  • Dooks, really want to see The Prophet. Soon.

  • just watch the collector, holly molly, remind me of saw or hostel, 6.5/10
off to watch paranormal activity, at night and with full volumen

Worth a read in relation to all this found-footage lark like Paranormal Activity.

  • Eden lake is basically Deliverance, Funny Games, I Spit on Your Grave and Southern Comfort. In that order.

But no, it's not that derivative, quite good, but fucking horrible

Me and a really geeky mate of mine (we are both into Mortal Kombat) used to make up moves for different parts of stacking the veg.

e.g. when we had stacked something up ... once of us would say "stacktality" ...

One of the events was delivery... whenever we were both on produce ...when we heard the call to go to the delivery ... my mate would shout in a really deep voice.

    "DELIVERENCE!!!!"

Used to make the long boring nights of stacking broccoli, go a lot quicker.

  • Just watched Brooklyns Finest.

Wasn't expecting anything at all, hadn't heard anything about it but ended up being pleasantly surprised.

It felt a lot like a cinematic and thus abridged version of The Wire (this was helped by poaching half the cast from the series).

A little ropey at times in terms of dialogue and one or two supporting characters didn't have much weight or purpose behind them except for expository but I thought as a whole a solid cast and concept.

Wesley Snipes was fucking impressive considering he's ultimately the Demolition Man in my eyes and always will be. Don Cheadle was the usual, reliable Don Cheadle. Richard Gere was on form as was Ethan Hawke. Ellen Barkin was hugely unlikable but I guess that was the character.

    Well worth a watch.

Sorry to be a pedant but Stallone was the Demolition Man and Snipes was Pheonix.

  • Which makes his performance here even more impressive!

  • I preferred Sandra Bullock in the movie myself.

  • Seriously, what is it with American audiences and not being able to deal with subtitles, yet another remake of a great movie, about to shit on its existance

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1228987/

  • ^ I'm gonna watch the original again v soon, ace film

  • Why call it "Let me in"? completely different meaning to "let the right one in"

  • Bill and Ted 3 is now on the cards... no more sad keanu

    English Audiences as well.

Really does my head in that most people can't read subs and watch something at the same time. Apparently they find it difficult.

Sometimes I watch films with the subtitles on, Fight club had some high dynamic range audio stuff that made it hard to hear the dialogue in some scenes, so I turned the subs on so I could actually knew what they were saying.

The Original is awesome ... one of my favourite movies.

  • Hah, you're so intelectual you watch english films with the subs on.

I know it's not what you meant, but it's funny none the less.

    agreed

  • Just watched Inception. Mediocre.

  • just watched Sin City,
one of the few Miller comics I havent got, monchromatics looks good, cracks along, bit violent for my taste but worth a watch.
captured the comic strip effect pretty well as good as any of the other comic film versions.

  • just watched inception. Mediocre.

init. I love the last 30 minutes of zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Ha.

i didnt actually finish it, started falling asleep.....or was I waking up.

  • Just watched Splice.
    Very odd.
A couple of interesting bits, a couple of funny bits, but mostly pretty average.

One particularly memorable bit involving Adrian Brody being caught by his girlfriend and collaborator giving his science experiment daughter/pet a 'yentz' in a barn.

  • Kick Ass. It's not the sort of film I'd bother going to the cinema for. Finally watched it and really quite liked it. I expect a sequel will be along in the next couple of years. Want to see some more 'Hit-Girl'

Cemetery Junction. I only really watched this because I'm a big Gervais & Merchant fan. The writing was spot on and a couple of good performances. Very cliché plot but had a great soundtrack.
