I don't know what it is, I wish I could get that affected from films like that but I never have.

I guess it's a suspension of disbelief thing, but I just can't get it out of the back of my head that it's not real.

Yet I have no problem with other genres. Kind of annoying.

  • watch "eden lake" if you want to be fncked up

  • I will have to watch Paranormal Activity, only for how sorethroat speaks about it...
    oh well

  • I have disbelief of Paranormal Activity, and it still fuck me up, moreso the missus.

  • It's quite entertaining though, which Paranormal Activity consummately failed to be.

I don't need to see that film, I just go on the forum.

  • both Eden Lake and Paranormal Activity downloading
I will tell you tonite how it goes

  • Jaws.

That did it for me when I was younger.

Wouldn't go in the water for fucking years.

Also Big Jake when I was very young was pretty disturbing, the dog getting machette'd at the end.

  • Its only films involving possession that really scare me.

The Exorcist, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Paranormal Activity: all of these have permanently scarred me.
If I even think about poltergeists or possession before I go to bed then im in for a bad nights sleep.

Literally, only films that involve possession (poltergeists obviously go hand in hand with possession).

  • About as confusing as Die Hard.

    What confused you so?

    *********potential spoilers***********

Why did the young girl up sticks and stow away with him, then seemingly bleed him dry for swanky clothes!? And why wasn't she missed? And why did no-one question who she was, and what she was doing with an old geezer?!

What was the significance of the book he left on the table? Who was in the photograph he had on the train at the end? Why did he leave so suddenly?

  • It's thinking about them that gives them a route into your head.

Stop thinking about the, or it's head spinning & green puke time for you.

Dont i fucking know. This is one of the main things that fucks me up.
It is nearly becoming a problem.

I dont remember any of that, but I also dont remember being confused in the slightest.
Ill try and watch it again soon and see if it still makes sense.

  • The Exorcist, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Paranormal Activity: all of these have permanently scarred me.

So have you seen The Last Exorcism? It's got 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.

  • The Exorcist whilst dated a bit now scared me rigid when I watched aged 13, the book even more so. I refused to sleep in my room, slept downstairs.....

  • i'm off work with a stinking cold. i have just made lentil soup and i have:

    a prophet
    black dahlia
so i married an axe murderer

    to watch.

    ahhhhhhhh

  • saw the start of eden lake. ill watch it in full this weekend when mates come around. is it a bit like the french film Ils? excellent film

paranormal activity was ok but ending was a let down. apparently there is an alternative ending. i think it's at par with [REC] in scare scale

the collector* is pretty good too
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0844479/

  • black dahlia

Don't bother, bit rubbish, like a diet LA Confidential. Oh and if you do, expect to want a cigarette. It was one of the films that got caught in the "tobacco companies can't advertise so they'll pay the studios shedloads to make sure everyone is smoking in every scene" before they got sussed.

i saw it had shitty reviews and skipped it. watched a prophet instead. very, very good.

  • just watched Eden Lake, strong shit

  • just watched Ils, pretty much the same, but with subs.

  • downloading Ills, now
will star paranormal activity in 30min
    heavy shit movie day

  • No Rik you should watch Paranormal Activity at night, heighten the experience.
Ed is also right, full volume.

  • The Illusionist - beautiful but confusing - I know the production assistant, I'm gonna ask her 'wassit all about like blud, ya get me?' Or sumthin.....

    This from Prod Assistant

    May contain spoilers

Alice follows Tati because she believes the magic is real (a bit like an overly obsessed fan). Who knows if she was missed back in Mull, maybe she was, but the film isn't about that bit of the story.

I think their relationship is presumed by others to be father/daughter like, that's why its not questioned. The book at the end is to show the audience that although Tati said magicians don't exist, magical type things can still happen.

Good question about the photo at the end, he looks at that photo several times at the start of the film too. Its supposed to be is daughter that he misses. (hence the relationship he strikes up with Alice - he misses his real daughter.) He leaves suddenly at the end because everyone else around him is also moving on, especially Alice with her new boyfriend. Its not said but its possibly because he wants to see his real daughter.
