  • Maybe you need to sew something into the palm of your gloves?

  • Maybe you need to sew something into the palm of your gloves?

No, it's only a problem when I'm tripodding, and I prefer as little padding as possible.

  • I think if you're hand is hurting from leaning on your mallet you're putting too much weight on the mallet; stay upright on your wheels and keep your mallet free for playing the ball!

Hmm. I think after 4 years of playing, I have probably got as good as I am going to get at staying upright, and keeping the mallet free for playing the ball...

  • use the correct hand and you wouldn't have this problem at all

  • Stabalisers?

  • Maybe just lose some weight then.

  • I remember someone here in the Netherlands had the same problem. He solved it by mounting a squash ball on top off his mallet.

  • I think I did that accidentally in a throw in once, can't say I recommend it

  • I had the same pain. It's not completely gone, but cutting the pole shorter and using a champ grip over a really small ball of electrical tape helped.

  • Bill, i cut the flange off of the bottom end of a ski pole grip, then slide it over the mallet and tape it down, i find it good for resting on the mallet. I may have a spare kicking around if you want to give it a try.

  • Yeah, that sounds good, thanks Max.

  • So what's the best way to attach these awesome Harvey heads then?

  • really?

same way has been described for every other head..

JOL also posted helpful pic earlier in thread:

(however i wouldn't countersink the pipe its too thin, and i would put more/sharp teeth and use a CSK screw)

    also ignore the ECM

This is what I meant, because of the thickness.
    Thanks for the tips Max.

  • I just put together a Perro Lite X MILK mallet... Very light, can't wait to try it out tomorrow...

  • I would recommend nyloc nuts for this method, my non-nyloc nuts keep coming loose.

    another guide here

A fine fellow in a “Cheater Mullets” tee from over seas first showed it to me

    ha!

  • I note on the jol picture he puts a notch on the pole where the top of the head sits, why? Anyone else does this?

  • That's the notch on the actual pole, Louis... Joel didn't put it there... He likes a 'whippy' mallet, maybe?

  • Oh yeah, sorry always cut above there so forgot about it. Cheers j.

  • josh made me a mallet for rouen and used the normal thread and nut and didnt even cut teeth into the mallet, it worked great!

  • Played with my MILK x Perro Lite for the first time last night and I've gotta say it feels fantastic... Very light, nicely balanced... Haven't been in any clunky exchanges with the shaft yet, will know more after a few throw-ins with dublinkevin and Beagle...

How do you stop it turning then?

I found before I made the notches, it would start spinning after a few games.

  • i think it was just super tight in the head, when i rebuild it (it was only temporary on a ski pole, broken now) i will cut small notches in the pole
