Have you found there to be an advantage to having a buckle? What riding have you used these for?
-
• #753
I tighten the buckle during the ride when things seems to have settled. It's easy to tighten your shoe with a buckle even under a cover. I missed not having them.
If you just ride fixed none of the above counts (because tightening your shoe whilst riding is not really going to happen).
Fiddling with with the buckle is also crucial for psyching out rivals just before signpost sprints. ;)

jadias. Hate to be a preacher but I would really consider getting a cleat setup done at a professional bike fitter. I had a full fit done over at the bike whisper in ealing earlier this year and it transformed my riding experience.
Adjusting cleat trial and error style can cause more problems than they solve. I did it that way for a year and ended up with all sorts of problems with my feet and knees.

And also, dont assume your idea cleat position is the same for both feet. Mine ended up being quite a bit different left to right.

"Toilet" is the act of washing oneself- one attends to ones toilet in the bathroom.
You have a crap in the lavatory.
Although, thinking about it, lavatory originally meant to wash also.
SO- Thunderbox it is. That has no other meaning to confuse the issue. One can do whatever one wants wherever one wants but one can expect to be called a posh knobber whilst one is doing it, innit.

That's actually the beauty of buckles. Much easier to catch 'em whilst pedalling to tighten shoes on fixed.

MMMM maybe I should get Genuis 5's with a buckle instead?
-
• #760
How much extra is it for the genius's? I have a pair, love them.
-
• #761
Planet X have Genius' for £129.99 the Logo's are £99.99 - woth the extra? Questionable.
-
• #762
FWIW £130 for Geniuses is a good price. I paid £75 for my Vernice's.

Got to say, I just adjusted my cleats the other week and it made a world of difference. It did make me think that getting someone to do it professionally would mos def be money well spent.

I can't believe no one has suggested this:
It should be crapper.
As in Thomas crapper, the inventer... Of the ballcock.

Who stocks mid sizes and Mega widths in a physical shop where I can go and try them on? Condor?
I've managed to rip the uppers away from the soles of my road shoes* and think some Dominators are on the cards...
*phenomenal power

Cyclefit had a 47 Mega when I was in there years ago. Presume they do others.
-
• #767
Are the Mega variants wider, or deeper and wider?
-
• #768
Anywhere in London have dominator 5's in store to try?
-
• #769
loads of places
or just order a variety of sizes from wiggle and return the ones you dont want
my view is if you are using a shop to try things on then generally you ought to buy from them
-
• #770
Did that for wiggle last week for 2 sizes.. Just a bit annoying having to return them.
They're generally the same price everywhere so think you're right, would prefer to just buy them in a shop, didn't see them in condor or any of the bike shops around Liverpool street the other day. -
• #771
tokyo fixed have them - actually they have the uk dominator with the replaceable parts
-
• #772
Cheers
Didn't think to check them. -
• #773
I am still on the fence with these shoes.
I like the look of the Spider (£150) but are they worth the extra over Domintors (£125) or Genius 5 pro (£118) (all MTB)
Anyone got experience?
-
• #774
The Genius 5s are road shoes, for a start.
They're also awesome.
-
• #775
Indeed they are. I would get a 2nd pair at that price. Where are they £118 Fahrgestell?
Yep. I had a pair. Just as well made as any Sidis. They've got no buckle though, just straps.
Wiggle have Bont A2s for £75 at the moment BTW.
