  • get to work

  • Ditto.

  • Ditto for you to.

  • Get lost. Thanks again for the shoes, Andy!

  • oh, the insoles rather than the outsoles. sorry, 2 questiuons

i have specialized footbeds in mine and it has made a world of difference. really comfy.

you go to condor and other places and they will tell you what type you need (flat foot, high instep, whatever).

25 quid but well worth it. better than those shitty blue things they come with that slide up your heal. what a joke in a 150 quid pair of shoeses...

  • As for footbeds to chose the right type flat/medium/high arch, when you get out of the shower look at the shape of your footprint.

Match it to one of these:

    Then buy accordingly.

    Specialized are very good.

  • What shower that cover you in blue liquid? a picasso shower?!

  • Yvves Klean

  • Okay who knows where in London has a big selection of Sidi's in Mega? I need some new shoes but my feet are too wide for the regular ones :(

  • Not sure whether there are any places that would have a large stock of mega... maybe talk to Karl in Condor though?

  • I just got my new sidi megas from condor

  • Nice one Dylan. Could I use some of your tyre by any chance? Haven't seen you in ages pal. Good excuse to see ya ;-)

lol sure, the update is that, whilst some of it worked, some of it didn't.

basically the glue doest bond enough on the small bits and they came off.

The sole bonded tight the other bits came off after a couple of weeks.

    So...
i got a cobblers to do the small bits for me using his rubber stuff and some extra special glue tht you need to heat up to work. It's rock solid now £15 later.

    happy days.

I also like the idea of these, which are quite stiff, but before you can use them u need to mould them to your feet, i think in a similar fashion to rugby/boxing gum shields.

  • So, I've finally replaced the sole lugs on my old Eagles, 5 years down the line. I sort of balked at paying £31 (discounted) for the kit, but it's better than buying shit new shoes, or a new pair of Eagles.

Murtle, you can still keep your cunting Dominators.

I expect the old 'Action' SRS kits will be discontinued by the time I need a new set, but I don't really care. 10 years lifespan for Eagles is fine, especially as I don't slide around like a twat like I would on Dominators overly hard sole.

Just to reiterate: fuck you, Murtle. And lpg.

i have two brand new pairs of these^, if anyone is after them - sizes 11 and 12

    ha! cockoff!

they have also changed the bloody shape of the replaceable sole now :(

10 years is pretty good, but then again i walk up hills

  • I've also just experimented with a new technique to squeeze more life out of the soles. Did it on my Dragons, to adjust for a 1mm shim I've got between the cleat and the sole i.e. get an extra 1mm depth on the lugs.

Took out the 2 inserts either side of the cleat; drew round them on an old (sliced open) inner tube; cut out inner tube bits; poked holes in them for screws; sandwiched them between sole and lugs.

Seems to work well - gives that tiny extra bit of clearance for the cleat, but doesn't interfere with the lugs seating properly.

Will do it on the Eagles in a few years' time…

  • i did take my eagles to a cobblers, and they put some sole rubber on there, but it didn't last too long.
i think dylan has been experimenting with motorcycle tyres on his

  • Yeah, I saw that, but I thought I'd attack things from the inside out :)

  • my experiments failed.. nothing sticks to that plastic. No glue known to man does it. :(

Next step is to get 2-3mm plywood cut it to the shape of the original cutouts, and screw that down, then stick the rubber to that.

can't see any other way to go.

  • sidi spiders? they look quite "meshy" vs dominators "leather" vibes.

  • places in london that stock dominators?
i know brixtion cycles do them... anywhere else?

  • Pretty sure Condor do, but doubting myself a bit so you might want to ring and check.

  • Condor do stock them, as do most branches of Cycle Surgery.
