  • mine wear 'cos i walk up the hills

  • How much faster do the replaceable soles wear than the non-replaceable ones?

  • Mine don't wear at all, but then I walk on water.

  • Mine just arrived - think I may need the size up though. Lorica doesn't stretch at all, does it? The length is good, but they may be too narrow. The velcro straps don't pull over to lay over all the other half, and the ratchet only does up three clicks or so. How do yours fit?

  • i have a pair of eagle carbon and a pair of sidi actions. if you're wearing them every day, get the actions, you don't need to adjust the lower two "straps" which are not velcro - on the eagles and dominators these are velcro and will wear out eventually and are not replaceable

send them back, go to condor, buy shoes that fit.

If you'd read my initial post you'd see how little help that is. Already pretty convinced I need a larger size, think they'll be going back tomorrow. Just need to decide whether I try a size up or just a half.

  • this is how mine look like after 6 months. the rubber on the outside of the heel is fucked, making me sound like im wearing high heels everywhere i go because the hard plastic is all that's there now.. my feet are suponated which is why this happens. i'm off to the cobblers to buy a big chunk of hard rubber that i can epoxy on to the sole. the rest of the grips are perfectly fine, annoyingly

  • i feel your pain.

  • Supination in the foot occurs when a person appears bow legged with their weight supported primarily on the anterior of their feet

I have been wearing my Sidi's for two years, no problem, but then I ain't got funny leg, innit ..:)

Their "mega" size is the same length but wider, sounds like it'll be perfect for you.

I've got a regular size 43, the length is fine and the velcro easily goes fully over. Ratchet does about 6 to 8 clicks I think. You know you can adjust the innerside end of the ratchet too?

  • This might have been mentioned elsewhere - Sidi Dominator 40% reduction for today only at Wiggle

Cheers chap, didn't know about the ratchet. The inner one is almost fully out - think I need to get the megas...

    One word: bugger.

  • What do you reckon my chances of sending them back and getting the Dominators in mega size at the new price are?

  • I'd say buy the discounted ones now before they run out, and return yours for a refund.
    But...
"Returned goods must be unused, in a saleable condition in their original packaging with all labels etc still attached. Once we receive the goods and completed returns form we will refund you, by the method you used to pay for your order."

+1 Bargain - too good to turn down

Well.......I returned some Dominators to Chain Reaction Cycles after I had used them for one ride as they were slightly too small, they weren't in perfect condition anymore as I had fitted the cleats and taken a few steps on concrete. They refunded the monies no problem.
I think for big retailers its a big hassle to send the items back to the customers, and in the age of internet forums etc (especially with bikes) pissing a small minority of customers off isn't worth it if they decide to kick up a stink online.

So anyway, I reckon clean them up and send them back, and buy the discounted ones. If they don't refund you then send the new ones back.

How much were the originals bought for?

  • HELP! That Wiggle deal looks great... only 4 hours to make a decision though. Apparently Sidi's come up small (like Shimano?) I take a 42 regular shoe and 43 in Shimano - reckon I need the same in Sidi's? The wife could be giving a heads up to Santa on these if I get in quick...

  • get 2 sizes bigger

im regularly a 44 and occasionally a 45 in normal everyday shoes

i now have Sidi 45's which are tight, but i like that.
i think however i would have been better served getting 46

  • It depends on your feet.

In most cycling shoes I'm a 46, they fit 'perfectly' when walking but a little loose when riding.

I got 46 Sidis and when walking they feel a bit too small/snug but on the bike they are PERFECT.

I think usually they come up a little bit small but I wouldn't go as far to say get 2 sizes bigger.

Your best bet is to try some on.

  • I reckon at least 90% of Sidi owners go one Euro size up from their 'normal' shoe size. Shimano tend to size the same way as well these days.
