I've now got a new problem, nice wide loop, but now can't seem to flip the pedal round, tried bending the little tooth on the opposite side to makie it more prominent, but broke it off, making the problem even worse. GGGrrrrrr.
Think it's time for some SPDs.

If you can't use normal pedals I'd give clipless a miss you'll be on your arse at every traffic light for at least a couple of weeks - maybe by an electric bike - then you don't strictly need to pedal - just an idea

I find the motion for getting out of clipless pedals becomes instintive very quickly though. It's just the first few times doing it without thinking that i had problems..

You can buy some shoe inserts from me that slide into your 'trendy shoes™' and allow you to attach cleats to them (after you have cut the correct size hole in the bottom of the shoe).
rather than cutting holes in shoes, isn't there anykind of strap on stappless?
I'm changing over to strappless but I'd like to be able to ride with normal shoes and strapping a cleat to the bottom of normal shoes makes more sense than swapping pedels back (or cutting holes in my shoes)...

Have definately seen straps for cleats on the interweb a while ago. So they are/have-been available. Seem to remember them being a bit pricey.

sorry I'm clearly posting in the wrong thread, no worries getting out of the clips (except one moment that we won't talk about), just can't get in the fuckers esp now that I've bastardised the left one.

Have you twisted the strap one full turn as it goes through the pedal? That will make a raised twist just in front of the plate, that your shoe can get purchase on.

Yeah already done that to stop strap movement, but strap is quite thin and doesn't really protrude above the level of the pedal. I think I might be a spazzo.

So I put my toe clips on my fixed bike this weekend.
I think I must have ridden the full 3.5 miles to work this morning with only one foot in the toe clips.
Can anyone give me any advice on a good way to get ones fecking foot into the fecking toe clips!?
Am I just gonna have to practice? -

Precisely that.

Might help if I wore shoes with grips near the toes.
Mine are almost bald at the front.
I will persevere. -

What are they lolo?
Pedals, obviously.
But is that a Solution, cleats? -

you get used to it. Once you can do it you don't even have to think about it.

no expert meself but pedals sometimes have a little beak-like piece sticking out for you to swing the pedal up into the right position.if you put clips on wrong side of pedal you wont have the use of this little sticky outy bit.I'm probably talking sh*t like I usually do though....

Does anyone else routinely step on their steel clips when pissed, rendering them impossible to use until opened out?
-
• #95
I used to do that all the time, so went clipless.
