Got to work this morning and found out my bike was nicked last night. Stupidly i left it in my boss's garden on Eel Pie Island, Twickenham unlocked overnight. They also took half a dozen copper downpipes that were waiting to be fitted to his house as well. So my bike a 53cmm(ish) Blue Dolan FXE, Light blue bartape on charge bowl bars, mavic open pro on system ex(fixed) on the back, shimano radialy spoked on the front. San Marco Rolls seat(Black),Dirty Harry lever and Black no name front brake. Not particually hopeful but if anyone does see it please email/lock the bike and i'd be eternally grateful. Will post a photo up here this evening.
Cheers -

saw a couple dude pushing a brown ss langster (or other compact geo specialised) this morning just north of loughborough junction.
they were both sort of 'scrapping' over pushing it, and it had cleats/clips stylee pedals, they were both wearing big ole boots - probably another pointless spot, but maybe someone lost a brown specialised recently?

Ok so who owns the White fixed Rauler locked in the racks at sainsburys whitechapel? White Selle Italia saddle and White tape on the right drop / none on the left, front brake on top and Mavic rims. It's been abus chained there for a week plus and the vultures are circling. Front wheel gone as of at least yesterday and someones had a go at the lock. It's a matter of time until this bike is stripped out completely.
If you own it what are you playing at? If you know who owns it get them to rescue it eh? It's not in top nick or anything but I'd be really surprised anyone wants to see it pillaged.
FYI I've tipped off security there that it's being progressively attacked and they really couldn't give a fuck.

Did you miss the winky smilie? I think after 20 years of living in south east London (plus 20 years of not) I know what dodgy looks like. As for trying to call me out as some kind of keyboard ninja you're barking up the wrong tree mate. Come to souths drinks (I'm well overdue a visit this year) and I'll buy you a beer.
Would I diss you to your face? Yes if I thought you were being a twat. And I wouldn't expect anything less in return if I was being a plonker to someone in public.
Yea seems I did, and forgot never write an answer when knackerd. Shame is on me!
I dont drink... and I dont ride atm thanks to work injury, but if ye want a cup of tea you can head over to brixton.
and not something completly difrent:
oh... does anyone else think we need a name and shame thread? There are some names mentiond in this thread..the update on my bike is that the police caught my thief for burglar, somehow they did not find the bike(?), as he sold it onto someone the first thing he does and apparently the police and force him, or even ask him who he sold it to (???????).
He been sentenced for that and a few burglars, I havn't heard the outcome but it is most likley he dont have to pay any compensation ("courts are not for compensation" as the PC told me). This cause he is young (19) and unemployed. Witch I think is really unfair since I am young, and because of him, unemployed.all info I have so far:
Bikethief:
Name: Rhys Gale (Not sure if this is how you spell Gale)
Proffesion: unemployed
Age: 19
I also got a facebook page (and hence a picture) witch I will not link to before I confirmed it's the correct Rhys Gale. -

Ha! Don't really fancy that kettle of worms to be honest! I can't understand why anyone would lock it and walk away. Concern has to be that somethings up with the owner or that they mistakenly thought it would be safe there, being in plain view and gated at night... Maybe they've gone on holiday or something. If it is abandoned I'd be amazed, the lock would be worth 50 quid, the wheelset 30 or 40, bars, stem, post and saddle another few quid.
Either way it's being systematically dismantled so I'd hoped someone would say "that's my mates bike, I'll let him know"...

Sad story of a garage being broken into in Ealing and 8 bikes stolen, 4 of which were fixed/track bikes.

That's me. Our garage. Our bikes.
Including two fixies (three if you count the S3X) and some unique, irreplaceable machines.
Please keep an eye out for 'em, folks.

I often wonder if owners of decent bikes that just get left for days in areas where they will not last long got up to... won the lottery and flown to the bahamas? gone on a rock star bender for a week? died? or... just lost the keys down the back of someone's sofa.

Holy crap, so many bikes, I feel really sorry for you guys ! I work in Ealing so will definitely keep my eyes open.I also found this quite irritating :
Although the bikes were insured, we’ve initially been told by the insurance company that they won’t pay out. Apparently they changed the wording on our policy to exclude rented garages, despite us specifically asking for such cover when we took it out.
Could you please keep us posted on your fight with these pigs as well ? -

Milktroll: I know! It's weird. I'd love it if someone on here recognises that bike, not least because I want to know how it comes to be 'abandoned' there like that.

Charlotte, just been send your sad news on by a mutual friend Stuart Gibson. Sucks. Good luck getting them back, and/or fighting cunty insurance.
Can anyone remember the website the streams all the photos from gumtree and ebay etc?

Scherrit told me about this, will have a look at the pics and keep an eye out as I'm in your manor too now.

Rubbish news, Charlotte, good luck with recovering them. You'd clearly taken all necessary precautions, but the looming hassle with the insurance company is quite disgraceful on their part. If they attach more and more conditions to insurance policies, will they end up refusing to insure anything at all?

um, how about a Moulton? or a mixte? Pashley Guv'nor? classic English tourer?
I'm sure this thread has been invaluable to a great many people and will continue to be, but extending it's remit to "speculation about & stalking of people who do not fit preconcieved notions of the typical London fixie-skidder" does not strike me as a positive development.
