  • Hi guys....
Yesterday afternoon I was walking in brick lane area and a really dodgy guy stopped me and he said that he had something for me,for my bike...
he had,in his car a hplus rim, laced to a halo hub!!
    it was definetely stolen.
I asked him where he got it and he said he was getting rid of some bike parts,so i asked if he had more but he said that was the last bit left!
    bullshit.
he offered it for 80 quid,i told him that i had his car plate and that i would call the police.
in the end I took it for 25 pounds just because I wanted to post it in here....

probrably i did the wrong thing, but Ididnt know what to do and someone else would buy it for sure....

I really dont want this wheel and probrably i shouldnt even bought it,but better me and a post here that someone else...

if you know someone that lost a rear wheel give me a shout!!!

  • Update?

He's responded, and it looks like he has it, no bike yet though. Negotiations are ongoing..

  • Meh.

Well, I'd been meaning to get a lock for my saddle, or some old chain, or a cable of some sort. And when I got back to the bike on Red Lion Square about 11ish this evening, I wished I'd gone further than meaning to.

Some thieving cunt has a cheapish carbon seatpost (whatever Chain Reaction were doing cheap a few months ago) and a brown Brooks Swift, with titanium rails. All I have is a righteous sense of annoyance.

At least the bike was still there. But if you see someone with a saddle like that, someone who really shouldn't have it, I'd be delighted to see it again.

  • Anyone had a modern geared grey Bianchi stolen recently? Saw someone riding one in E9 today who just didn't look right on it. Mostly it was the clipless pedals on it but the guy was wearing desert boots and seemed to be struggling.
Who knows might be legit, but thought I'd post it here just in case.

  • Another SE Racing Lager (2009) stolen over the Eastern Weekend, not sure date. From a securely gated block near Pitfield Street. Locked with a Abus Granit Lock 1000/100 (£70) to a cycling railing through the frame. 6 other bikes in the same railings and not stolen. The other bikes were mountain bikes or hybrids with much weaker locks, so clearly fixed were their only target. They took with them the plastic cover and cylinders that cover the main cable of the lock and left behind the rest (?). Area was covered with CCTV camera and I’m in the process of getting access to it so soon will be able to provide picture of the bastards. I CAN’T WAIT FOR THAT!!

Bike is as below plus: 2 rear lights and one front light. Rear mudguard and small front one. Red metallic foot retentions.

I saw similar add posted last week and response reporting it in Brick Lane, so I’ll be contacting the person who reported it. Plese PM me with any information that you might have. I’m still in the step 3 of the process

1- Denial (this isn't happening to me!)
2- Anger (why is this happening to me?)
3- Bargaining (I promise to be more careful if…)
    4- Depression (I don't care anymore)
5- Acceptance (I'm ready for this shit)

    Thanks!

  • Thanks for the response so far guys!!

2 days after I realised that my bike was stolen and still fighting to get access to the recording of the 3 CCTVs of my building...
1 hour after my post here and I already know my bike was being sold in BL, time of it and the description of the guys....

  • Hello.

I am a massive dumbass and on Sunday night I forgot to lock my Klein Quantum Race fixed conversion; in about the worst place possible - just off Brick Lane. I went to get a bagel, and after about 5-10 mins I realised my lock was in my bag. I was not surprised to see it gone when I returned. I've used this daily for 4 years and am quite attached to it. Here's a pic:

It had a silver thomson stem and seat post, untaped nitto bullhorns, campag front caliper, panasonic gum walls on silver mavic open pros.

To the person who took it: Enjoy having to adjust the chain and bolts constantly, because it doesn't have proper dropouts. Enjoy having to cut the crank off with a power tool in a few months, because the splined crank mechanism is failing and I mashed the crank bolt. Good luck with cleanly removing the high temp solder from the stem, bars and seat posts without buying a high pressure hot air gun. Also, I have been battering the shit out of this bike for years and have stacked it hard numerous times, the resin in the forks is probably cracked, and the front rim is about to catastrophically fail - have fun.

If anyone sees it, could you text me on 07853-two four one-358 please? PM here would be good if you can't do text.

You better get in touch with this guy...

    So...?

  • ..He's not making it easy.

  • Surely you've got enough details to give him?!

  • Oh, he believes it's my bike; I'm just getting the idea that altruism wasn't his main motive.

  • Hmm yeah. There is always that.

  • Been a busy few weeks for the thieves: taken from bike storage in my building in Camden, my grey, Condor Fratello, with 60th anniversary stickers, frame number 01081144. Probably got a Faghettaboutit still between the wheel and the frame...

    Fuckers.

hmmm... if you involved the police would they do him for handling stolen goods (or maybe for actually pinching it)?

  • He fixed my broken spoke! Friday (hopefully).

    Photos?!...
I was cycling home, about an hour ago, saw this guy riding a geared Condor (I only saw shades of blue, but it could be grey(ish))... everything looked wrong about the fella.
It was obvious he was struggling to pedal, and the bike was too big for him... oh, have I mentioned he looked well dodgy?.. anyway, it was definitely a Fratello (now that I've google'd it).
Saw him down Amhurst Road E5.

  • Thanks nukow. Perhaps it has headed east?

    Photo below.

Grey frame, two bottle holders (one broken), mudguards, white bar tape (Selle Italia rather than Brooks saddle now).

  • Def 'bluer' than that, but it was a Condor, and surely nicked.
Sorry mjs110, don't think now it was yours.
    Good luck.

  • Hi Guys. would love my first post to be introducing myself and my bike, but unfortunately it is to inform you that my bike was solen last night from the Mile End area of East London. It is an instantly recognisable Specialized Langster in the Monaco colour scheme, and came off of a 3rd floor balcony sometime last night! Is non standard parts are:

Ends of handlebars removed and replaced with red vortex end plugs.
Plastic pedals removed and replaced with steel MKS ones
Valve caps replaced with red aluminium ones

I've of course reported it to the local police, and here are some photos for you all, you really cant miss it!

Any info would be welcome to either me, henry.willetts@googlemail.com 07771550855 or Bow Police 0300 123 1212

    thankyou!

  • @hen12y - possibly dodgy neighbours?

  • Im sorry to hear about that. I just saw your post on gumtree as well, not sure on other peoples opinions but it maybe worth not posting on there to try and fish it out. Just make sure that you check it regularly yourself. Its just an opinion.
