  • Towed is the plan...

  • Ah cheers poots. I might actually drive there...

    That's the spirit.

  • Ah cheers poots. I might actually drive there...

Me and him are going to drive I think.

  • Well... means I can't have a pint, so maybs I better check the trains ...

  • Doing the 300k Plains tonight prefaced by a 100k ECE across the Peak District.

Ahh, which one were you? I was the one looking generally unhappy on the fixed Langster, turns out 6 hours sleep in 48 hours isn't the best preparation for a through-the-night ride!

  • Is anyone doing any audax on the 4th or 5th of May? I've finally got my audax bike ready and been aching to actually get out there and do some riding.

    Vesalius, fancy doing another DIY?

  • Will be doing the Porkers 400km on the 5th? Entries are closed, but if you really fancy a (tough!) ride you could try persuade the org? Probably a bit awkward though...

Otherwise doing that DIY route on saturday, or doing the Meridian hills perm on the 12th of May?

  • Bugger, that look good, 400k a little too soon, a DIY on a Saturday seemed like a good idea.

Will check the Meridian Hills perms out, the Severn Across 407k look idea (and it'll be warmer too).

As far as I can tell, the earliest train you can get out there gets you to Chelmsford for 8.35 (works on the other line). Am hoping that I can then sprint to Bicknacre for 9(ish). Means the longer distances are a bit of a non-starter.

  • Just signed up for the 100km this Sunday.

  • Is anyone doing the London Edinburgh London audax?

My friend is making a film of it.

Ah, fuck. I've not thought this through!

    Thanks kt!

I might call the org and switch to 100. Or drive. Or something.

  • Anybody riding to Witham in the morning?

  • Think rosie is intending to.

    LEL thread

  • Cheap, practical road bike, looks great for audax rides, £139 from Manchester

bars don't look very comfortable though

I was the one on the blue Giant with a Carradice, frame bag and handlebar bag.
Really annoyed with myself because as soon as I got to work on Monday I managed to work out a way to Larrington the final section. Quite pleased with taking the main road option back from Newtown to Dinky's though. Nice and flat most of the way, excellent surface, little traffic and in my view, much better scenery. If I do this ride again I'll go out and back on that.

  • Anybody tempted by one of the Gravesend Audaxes on 12th May?

I've finally snapped and decided to ride the Porkers 400km - looks a full fielding of AC Hackneys 7 strong Audax club!

If anyone esle is interested in riding a decent (yet very hilly) 400km we are all traveling out and back from London.

As Vesalius says - Meridan Hills 200km on the 12th May - any one else interested?

  • Doing the whitham 160 tomorrow, driving. If anyone wants a lift up there, that may be possible.

  • Ooh, really? PM'ing.

  • Anyone know if they'll have printed route sheets available at the start?

  • Ha, I was just wondering the same thing as my printer is disconnected as it normally lives in the cellar. As they supply electronic stuff for non-postal entries it seems unlikely. If I can find the power adapter I'll print some.

Skully I'm riding out and doing the 100 with tricity and fussballclub so hopefully we'll see you at some point tomorrow after we have got up at stupid o'clock in the morning.

If anyone is riding from Chelmsford I put this route together before I decided to ride out which you're welcome to borrow:

And this is the reverse for those of us riding back to Chelmsford for the train:

Let me go and look for those wires...

  • Dunno, best email the organiser esepecially if planning to enter on the line best email the Organiser. Not all are able to handle EoL and at least they'll be warned to bring some spare routesheets.
