Anyone riding the Surrey Hillier 100km tomorrow? I'm out tonight so will have to play it by ear as to how hungover I'll be tomorrow AM. I have however, signed up for the Kernow + Southwest 600km and Pendle 600km so the more climbing the better!

K&SW 600 is a fantastic ride. I did it in 2011 for my SR before PBP.
Didn't do it fixed as I couldn't risk not qualifying for PBP but if I do it again (when back to normal Audax fitness) I'd give it a go on t'cog.
I found the the Bude->Looe leg the most relentless, so it's good that you get that out of the way early on.
Taunton to West Coker to Seaton is a bit lumpy too, with some proper back country lanes.

Good luck, was just with Gadge (chris), he's gutted he's not doing it!
Thanks! Some absolutely fantastic night riding, great dawn, and nice sunny weather (albeit a bit windy again...) on the return leg
There's not much in the way of elevation, but it still felt like there was a lot of climbing?
Hopefully Gadge will be all healed up soon, he's planning rides regardless so maybe a good sign? :p

Doing the 300k Plains tonight prefaced by a 100k ECE across the Peak District.
Good luck!

Currently cheap cougar frame+forkshttp://rover.ebay.com/roverimp/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=2&pub=5574889051&toolid=10001&campid=5336525415&item=290903053744&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER] on the Bay that could build into a nice audax bike?
531 designer select tubing (potentially a custom mix of gas pipe and pig iron, or 753 and 531, who knows :p )
Hopefully it has decent clearances for mudguards, it certainly has the mounts

I'm selling my (geared) Audax bike too as I do almost all of mine on fixed now and use the Wilier for anything seriously hilly:-
[EDIT] YACF link removed, now listed on classifieds here.

(If there's interest I'll list it on here too. Don't worry, if I sell it through this forum then I'll donate here.) -

Signed up for the Witham Wander as my first audax next weekend.
Which distance? I'm contemplating signing up for the 100 and then riding there and back (which'd make it 250km in total, which is about as much as I can face doing when I have a pretty horrific work day lined up for Monday).

100km, I was thinking a gentle introduction these audax things and cycling after a winter off the bike.

Signed up. Shall see you there. It'll be my first audax too.

I'm doing the 100 too! I shall look out for you bendix!

Awesome. If anyone fancies riding there/back I have an OK route involving hardly any A road after the M25 :D

I might be up for doing this, the start is just up from East Hanningfield so I know a nice way out/back off by heart. Only one way for me though, as I only started cycling again yesterday, that was only 60 miles and I only seem to be able to tolerate riding out through London one way at the moment.
Would definitely consider riding out or back though and getting the train the other way.

Blimey, I've had email confirmation and everything. This is a bit different from my last attempt to try an audax when I couldn't find anything that didn't require a chequebook.

Anyone else doing the riverside to riverside near Maidenhead on Wednesday?
Work day so I imagine unlikely!

Hmmm - thought I had entered WW, but haven't heard back so have emailed. I am / think I am signed up for 100km. Could comtemplate riding back ... but not out. Geared or fied? GS action for those of us training it out of Liverpool St?

Does no-one fancy 150 with trains both ways? That's what I'm planning. Pete?
Also trying to arrange a 56k brevet with my son in June! Excited.

If anyone fancies mixing it up a bit the route from Ingatestone is really nice and flat. I'm half considering it just to cut out the tedious Stratford/Ilford bit.

Heads up - there's engineering work on Sunday so while you can get so far out of Liverpool Street, you can't go all the way to the nearest station. I think it only adds about 5 or 6 miles going to next station though.
This is has been a mildly helpful/unhelpful post by Pootsmanuva Rail Enquiries Inc.

Ah cheers poots. I might actually drive there...

Will he be riding as well, or in tow? :)
