Someone didn't get the memo that you don't need a front derailleur on a fixed tarck bike

Yeti TT
any idea why it did not qualify?
Intended as a qualifier for the Hour track record, this bike built in the early '80s by Yeti (more commonly known for their mountain bikes) was intended to use all technological advantages. These included the low aerodynamic profile of 24" wheels, and the light weight of the Delrin plastic bushing "headset". Despite these efforts, the bike did not qualify for the Hour, and thus perhaps why we don't see many bikes of this unusual distinction any more. Please note the signature turquoise color Yeti uses to this day on their technologically (yet functionally) advanced full suspension mountain bikes.
I found that to be an interesting build, albeit not pornMarathon Man
Is it safe?

Such a long tour on toeclips? Why not clipless..
Because it's convenience, and comfortable with the right pedals/clips setup.
It also mean you don't carry a flip flop or something similar with you.

all the expensive weight weenie stuff, even a ti ring on an old record crankset and then fenders and touring weldo-fest frame that looks heavy as they come.
edit: Oh i just noticed he puts the group on all new wheel build photos.

It's a custom alu frame, make sense to have mudguard if you want to ride it daily.

Ofcourse, was just questioning the sensibility in low weight expensive finishing kit on a build that cancels them out. Realized this morning I dont own one single frame that has enough downtube clearence for a front fender. Clearly never rains in italy

Yeah but having light finishing kit that is cancelled out, is still lighter than having heavy finishing kit, no? ;-)
When your seat tube's twice as thick as your forks, you're in trouble.
