• ^ This.

It's a Colnago, it's paint should resemble that inside The Baptistry of Florence. Tasteful paint belongs on Canyons/Giants/Cervelos.

• Are the seatpost and saddle 'right' ?

They look like the Corima items. The fact that it has Mavic bars and starfish crank suggest a 'Francophile' build rather than strict adherence to some notion of how it was when new. Since it's a road frame anyway, the idea of any of it being 'right' is moot.

• Nice. More than good enough for me.

present proof of tasteful giant please!

• Not feeling the Colnago. I'm not sure exactly what it is, maybe those frames need all silver or all classic part, just looks a bit of a mess.

This

• Its the background and the wheels make it look funny IMO.

If it was in front of a white door we'd all be complimenting how nicely the carbon leavers, black stem and rims tie together.

• That said I don't like the seatpost, blue rim logos, or the funny little blue bits on the bar tape under the leavers. I also think deep silver or low profile grey rims would work better.

• I compliment the framset but not owt black or carbon on it

• If you were older than 12, you'd know that stems used to be called extensions, and you'd be less confused

You sure put that ignorant bastard in his place. bravo.

That lotus is incredibly cool.

That's a particularly bad paintjob, even for a Nag

• The stem (and headset spacer) looks odd, and it would be a lot better with white tape and proper pedals, but there's nothing wrong with that paintjob. Standard issue unicorn-vomit Art Decor, i.e., awesome.

• Todays quote from bikeradar.

"The frame's UCI approval mark, and large infinity symbol, which could prove popular in the Chinese market"

• except there is no stem!

If you were older than 12, you'd know that stems used to be called extensions, and you'd be less confused about the difference between the function of an object and the method of its construction and attachment.

You sure put that ignorant bastard in his place. bravo.

sensing a bit of resentment?

• tester's knowledge is very valuable, it's just a shame he has to dress it up like that.

• See this is a Nag paintjob I can get on board with, the other, not so much. All pics lifted from cyclingtips blog http://www.cyclingtips.com.au/2013/04/bikes-of-the-bunch-colnago-mapei-master-x-light/

I love the various Mapei paint schemes but they were basically an Art Decor (AD) paintjob with the Mapei cubes on the top tube plus the flat light blue colour around the headtube, which I'm not sure is better than the best of the AD schemes on the Master / Master Olympic / Master X-Light. E.g. they do three of the best on the current Master:

AD4:

AD10:

AD11:

(Excuse non-porn builds)

This to me is an awesome modern interpretation of the Mapei scheme:

But then if you didn't grow up in the 80s/90s they probably all look incredibly gauche/tasteless.

• Well I like all of those, especially the last one. Probably would take home the red one if I had the choice and several thousand pounds

• Golden era 'nag paintjobs. All their current crabon bike ones are horrible and generic. :(

• But then if you didn't grow up in the 80s/90s they probably all look incredibly gauche/tasteless.

Nago paintjobs are ugly and vulgar whenever you grew up.

I went for red ( vangites against readers wives stoning)

subjective
only from the mid/late 80'3 up untill the Technos (last steel production frameset pre Master 30th) when Ernies art dept discovered the 2nd summer of love did the colours go off key, were normally one colour , so earlier models are subtler

• I know its subjective I was kindof trolling. The red and white one above is actually quite nice. Mostly theyre just too heavy and busy, a bit like puke.
