Doesn't look so in this;
[picture of Moots CX bike with single (small) front ring and small range cassette]
Eh? That's clearly a 1X10 with a 39ish ring and a close ratio cassette, what is your point Ed?
-
• #69203
^^^^ um, yes it does Ed. The moots has no front mech.
You want the gaps between gears to be small as possible when racing.

↑↑Double grooved road bars on a track bike? You can't explain that.
-
• #69207
He likes the bars and they dont have a track version?
-
• #69208
tbh I think he has just chucked them on waiting for different bars

And the QR front wheel?
As a beater thrown together with the parts to hand, it's fine, but this is the pr0n thread, people.

In my last road race of the season, half the peloton were brought down including myself. I've never seen so much "smashed up carbon". Lucky for me, I was able to get going again and as I rode home for pride, I couldn't help but think..........."do I need a 2K bike frame" when the likes of a Cannondale cad frame is more than suitable for the local bike races/crits?
-

If you want crash-resistance, something in the heavier guages of 853 seems like the best bet. Nobody who actually needs a better frame than that will have to pay for their own.

I dunno how they work, but a strain gauge is tiny so I'm guessing its the data transmission/power that takes up the space.
They look like scientific instrumentation. If that floats your boat.
touches face with micrometer
Don't talk to me about fucking strain gauges.
6 years of ground strain data for a volcano, measured every single minute, times two locations. Welcome to my research topic!

Thats 44 (or 42 cant remember) with 12-25 in the rear. Its a 39 in the back on that crank but only cause i couldent get the damn ss bolts to work thanks to campys hidden 5th bolt design. No front derailleur and no need for me to have more gears. Not in the back nore in the front.
Then again. I too race cross every weekend..
