Seatpost on the 496 is not cylindrical, it's more lenticular, so it looks pretty skinny head on.

Purely on aesthetic grounds, and particularly on that frame. I'm sure there's a frame* out there which can exploit the functional adequacy of WoundUps without burning my eyes, but that isn't it.
