The F117 features those nasty looking edges, aerodynamically disastrous but the best that they could do with the state of the art stealth modelling available in the 1980s. The B2 is smoother, and manages to combine a clean aerodynamic shape with even better low-observable characteristics. Since radar cross section is an irrelevance on a bicycle, I'm wondering why Canyon copied the 'barely flies' F117
the f117 was technically a bomber, the F status was misleading.

I would also think they'd finished the majority of the modelling by the start of the 80's

F117 is pure 1970s tech, the B2 project only came a little later.

This is true, ground attack/bomber. Also I'm not sure Buckaroo was refering to the F-117, if anything the wide flat surfaces and slight curves remind me more of the B-2.

Looks fucking amazing as a bike though, doesn't it?

You're missing his point completely.
Did you never jump a hand me down shopper bike off a home made ramp as a child?
Have you never messed about on a downhill course on your xc bike?
I have, and I had fun.
Your statement above is spoken like a true 'adult'.Having fun isn't always about using the best tool for the job...sometimes it's as simple as having a bit of a piss about on something that isn't.
Wholeheartedly agree, having done the whole south downs way on a road bike with knobbly tyres I had to trim to fit through the chainstays

cause it looks fucking cool, aerodynamics is all in the mind

aerodynamics is all in the small details
If more people realised this, pseudo-aero bikes would never sell.

That Canyon looks so much like the BMC tt bike they started using in spring

Since people keep mentioning the similarity of the Canyon to the BMC I thought I'd post this:
Click the picture for more pics I especially like the di2 compartment. It's far from identical, but rather than reminding me of the BMC, the rear of the Canyon reminds me more of the Walser/Focus back end (albeit without the brake). -

Anybody can make pretty pictures of a TT bike incorporating all the fashionable features. Making one which actually rides and performs better than a boring old P3 is much harder. CGI isn't bike porn; at most, it's bike hentai.+1 ( And I have been studying CGI at school)

and hentai at night?..

Looks CGI? Where can I download. Pffft.
Real life model, slightly boring white, hence why I posted the other images.

I'll be riding tonight with a fella on one of those Hinault Looks. They are total porn.
He's owned it since new.
Really? Really?
