belt tensioning - how do get a belt on, i can't see a split?Ah not talking about the julie, talking about that raw frame above.

In that case, because it's a road frame - hence the rear brake drilling, stud for mudguard mounting etc. Track ends are required on the track, but a PITA on a road bike, especially one with mudguards.

i see.

Frankly it make more sense having forward facing drop out than track end for a fixed/singlespeed road frame.

Surely you could argue that (much like 32 spokes F&R being over kill for the front wheel) having a front wheel with three cross pattern is over kill- if it's not being used as a disk brake, no?
But radial lacing almost any 32 hole hub is unadvisable. So if you want that many spokes for practical reasons, 28 2x would be less likely to-fail, lighter, and stay true longer. If youre doing it for looks, you've missed by a long chalk (but thats just MHO).
I'm sure the reality is that they hold up fine, and only weigh 25g more than a 28 2x. Its just one of my personal niggles.

I'm confused. Are there other bike forums out there, with threads called (or similar to) 'Bike Porn', where members post their own bikes?
-

This forum is obviously different then. There are threads there to post yur own bike. Posting your own bike makes people think that you're full of yourself. Someone seeing your bike in another thread like 'Current projects' or similar can then post it in here. Simple no?

is that specifically 32 hole is unadvisable or all radials in general?
I was questioning the symmetrical point made by others: Front wheel ≠ rear wheel.
They shouldn't look the same, should they?

Can we change the name of this thread to "Bike porn - don't post your own bikes"?
-
• #39314
great idea.
It seems 'names and faces to bikes' isn't obvious enough either. Perhaps 'Names & Faces - post your own bikes here' would be better.

Even if we liked your photography, the bike is horrid.

I live in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Its winter 8 months out of the year and the bike culture here is non existant. Its very hard to find any decent bike frame to set as fixed... unless you want to buy new bikes. Parts for bikes are also expensive.
Sorry you don't like my Miyata. Its the best I could do with the money I have.
I would like to see your bike :) -

^ win. I had the misfortune to have a bike adorned with Delta brakes back in the 90's. I say that because whilst they are, imo the most beautiful brakes ever made they are terrifyingly bad, particularly in the wet. Nice though.

Wouldn't like to see the price though
For easy wheel removal. Belt tensioning is by eccentric BB.
