extreme saddle to bar drop ftw,
hate sitting upright like i'm pushing a shopping trolleyThat fuji does have the saddle cranked up quite high for the frame size, and the stem is in the flipped lower position than it comes as standard, you can see that there is atleast a 4 inch saddle to bar drop to the Tops of the bars, another 4 inches roughly to the drops...
that is more extreme than most people have their road going track bikes set up i think -

Depends alot on the height of the cyclist. I'm pretty flexible, but only 5'7 1/2" (the 1/2 s important) so only run a 4cm drop on the fixie (Deepish road drops), 2cm on the commuter (using midge bars), and 0 drop on the XC (flat bars).
This is what you want ;)

plus one, due to my body shape, the most comfortable position both on the drop and on the hood is when the bar is near the height of the saddle.
hate running a lots of spacer though.

Extended headtube FTW.
I'm definitly going for something like this on my future road bike.

I've got one, and it's noisier than a Phil Wood. More noise = less efficient, presumably, although that's likely down to the shaping rather than the coating. I also think there are probably better coatings available for sprockets and chainrings than TiN, albeit with less bling factor. TiN is sold on the back of it's hardness, but as we all know uncoated 7075T6 aluminium alloy is actually plenty hard enough for chainrings, and even sprockets if you don't mind replacing them a bit more frequently than steel ones. What we need is something with reduced friction, an although TiN is an improvement over steel, there are other candidates which knock it into a cocked hat for friction properties in return for a loss of a little of the wear resistance which we can comfortably afford to sacrifice. MoST looks like a very promising candidate for a drivetrain coating.

And last but not least the most innovative soviet track frame - "Taichon TT edit."
a sick extrem bike with a sick position, nice western components and a dream wheel basesick russians...
Anyone interested in this frameset? I can arrange one...
Contact me if interested and tell me how much you would pay for this... -

Yeah, it's the light energy (flames) that really fuck me off when flat out. Time travel I can deal with.

Definately agree,
I've high 'ape factor' long torso and arms and short legs so a lot of saddle to bar drop suits me quite well i think, i usually end up streched out on a set of bullhorns set about 5-6 inches below the saddle -

I am the opposite of ape (apart from the hairiness!) so have long legs and short torso.
Probably the worst combination as always give saddle to bar drop problems. Can't have a taller frame with longer headtube as the TT is always too long.
Custom build for me one day I guess of long seat and headtube but relatively short top tube... -

Just checked my BikeCad frame. I have the head tube extending 2.5cm over the top tube. Not actually that much then.

Anything more might start to look a bit 'special' I would think.

Contact me if interested and tell me how much you would pay for this...@lkhs: you probably mean similar farmeset. ‘cuse i know this one is not for sale. right?
or could this be a scam? wouldn’t be the first time somebody used pictures of my bikes to trap drooling succas -

The seat tube extends 14cm over the top tube to form a ISP. So it looks nicely balanced (at least on the screen).

To be precise, these are Soviet bikes from the Kharkov factory located in Ukraine (it's like "Empire Made" stamp on goods didn't mean the same as "Made in England")
So, Ukrainians are not Russians, Indians are not English. Empires tend to rape and exploit their dominions :-) Soviets were well known for stealing technologies for their own use and making them even more awkward.
It's nice to acknowledge the real labour force and resources behind their projects. Be it in bike/car production or photographic/optical equipment. -

^ha ha... cyclocross
Yeah, I remember the discussion(s). Which is why I was being careful. Did'nt realise it that exact pic.
The great thing about EDs potatochop is that the Fuji actually has a few spacers under the stem, bringing the bars up to the low-pros level.
Still dont think my diaphram would operate in that position though ;)
