  • PPS. They're not gold to look good

  • PPPS. It's titanium nitride, not gold.

  • but this is the internet my opinion counts here! :(

anyway can normal ppl buy from Euro-Asia Imports or is it just shops / bulk buyers?

  • I'd change the pedals and cranks, but that is a lovely frame. On the whole a tasteful bike.

  • 'Excuse me, that bike looks like my tie.'

  • Oh OK, Ti Nitride = super good. I geddit.

  • And the Kona thingymajiggyllantisilliogogogoch. They look solid and fun.

Shanaze Reade looks solid an fun, but she's not a pr0n star.

  • Geliano

Other then the bars, fooking hot.

These front and back. Used by the British team or something?

I've got one, and it's noisier than a Phil Wood. More noise = less efficient, presumably, although that's likely down to the shaping rather than the coating. I also think there are probably better coatings available for sprockets and chainrings than TiN, albeit with less bling factor. TiN is sold on the back of it's hardness, but as we all know uncoated 7075T6 aluminium alloy is actually plenty hard enough for chainrings, and even sprockets if you don't mind replacing them a bit more frequently than steel ones. What we need is something with reduced friction, an although TiN is an improvement over steel, there are other candidates which knock it into a cocked hat for friction properties in return for a loss of a little of the wear resistance which we can comfortably afford to sacrifice. MoST looks like a very promising candidate for a drivetrain coating.

  • Some pretty middle of the road stuff recently. Enjoyed the stuff from 55-11 though. If I'd seen this bike 'sans rider', I would almost consider it unridable. The saddle to bar drop *looks** huge!

(*lets not get into the comparing low pros with bull horns, to modern tack bikes with deep drops, thing. I said it looks like a huge drop. Still, doubt I could hold that position without suffocating, let alone cycle in it.)

It's a repost and the discussion was there as well. If I remember mdcc_tester photoshoped it with a road cycle in comparsion. So it is just this position you would have on a normal frame:

  • 'Excuse me, that bike looks like my tie.'

brilliant, +1, I like that tie though...

Not my chop, although I've probably quoted it in various discussions, i.e. every time some noob suggests that a lo-pro is going to give its owner back ache.

  • EdScoble did the chop..

  • Ah right, thanks. I found it at my hard drive, really good done!

**And a ****altar for all the gazelle fan boys out there...

  • Although in principal the set up from lo-pro to drops on a normal bike matches so nicely. It rarely works out that way in practise, with your lo-pro being taller and shorter than your road bike/track bike frame. Maybe that doesn't make sense, but none of the lo-pros I have owned have ever been as uncomforatble as riding in track drops all the time.

Although I assume this is less of an issue on a properly fitted lo-pro for a track rider of the day when they were allowed.

I had my lo-pro built to spec by lining up a pair of Cinelli LA84 bars next to the drops on my drop-bar TT bike and measuring out the required stem clamp position from there. It did actually end up a bit more comfortable, just because the LA84 bar gives better wrist support than a drop bar.

  • :D

This is even more impressive when seen in real life - very pretty.

  • Hope this is not repost, but this bike is awesome!

  • I'm loving Cyclops.
    Want!

'... The story I have heard is that the guys at Cyclops thought pursuit racers were a bunch of Geeks so they embossed geek on the top of the seat-stay of their pursuit frames. The other seat-stay has the name of the original owner...'
