Considering this is his first fixed and he designed and baked the frame himself, is this porn?

You can tell it's a first timer's effort, because he missed out one of the frame tubes.

i like it, i reckon it probably doesn't ride as nice as it would had it been designed and made by a company who specializes in carbon frames, but for a DIY jobbie, it reckon its pretty good

Team GB bikes by Advanced Composites were the ones you can't buy. To be fair to Hippy (who started the argument), the BT is one of the top half dozen track frames on public sale, just behind the Koga Kimera, Look 496, Cervelo P3, Walser and Felt TK1 :-)
Love this image of the Cervelo (bit of hood envy going on though).

Go build a list of palmares for each of these bikes then. I think you'll find the BT doing quite well. In fact, I think you'll find BT beating all of them. The Kimera is a copy of the BT.
Put the British riders on BTs and they still would have won all their medals. Also, you or I can buy a BT, they're not build by some secretive F1 manufacturer.. -

The Kimera is a copy of the BT.
Actually it's a new design, although unsurprisingly it is influenced by the BT as the Dutch team rode BTs labelled as Kogas for several years beforehand. On the other hand, the BT is clearly very influenced by the Corima, so they can hardly be said to be the world's greatest innovators in bike design.

how much is a dropout change nowadays? seems like a pretty easy project to do. (not harshing on his build, it's quite obviously epic)
I have a frame just like that... The "trackends" are standard I think.. mine has them too..
