Yep, won it. Not cheaply, but not overly expensive for what it is. I am so happy right now.
New username time?
CherryRedQuinn.
TwoQuinns. (well 3 actually but I'm going to sell the other red frame.)The blue Quinn is now destined to return to being a tourer. I see a Sturmey 8 speed hub in its future.
Oh yeah, what is it with that bloody horrible Cinelli glamourflage bar tape? My Steve Goff had that on the bars as well. What did the poor bike do to deserve that?

huh? well does is still have track threads? imma donna get it
you`ll need to buy a track axle from hed for £25 and step converter if you want a good chainline for around £30 off ebay. I wouldnt trust a allen key skewer wheel will just pull over with pressure.

Big and cheap £50 BIN - fixed
-
• #16913
thanks, i'm watching that at the moment as my missus' raleigh appear to be weakened near the seat tube sadly.
this appear to be the perfect replacement (and restoration once I get a closer inspection), and at 20' it'll fit her better than her current bike!

My girlfriend wanted that- be prepared to defend the Red Quinn at South East beers.

I'm new to fixed.. is a paddy wagon a decent frame to start with as i intend to strip down and rebuild???
-
• #16921
If its in good nick I'd say thats probably a solid buy for the money. Ready for winter too. The only point stripping and rebuilding it would be for maintenance and education. If you want to spend money upgrading all the parts, there are better frames out there.
-
• #16922
I want to build it for educational purposes, to be able to build and repair my own bike and source new parts etc..ooh and obviously ride it too. I would prefer just Frame and forks for around 100 can anyone suggest anything
-
• #16923
or is that too cheap for a starting frame??
-
• #16924
don't worry about painting it then.
spend cash on bits. -
• #16925
Unlikely that £100 frame and £100 on parts will get you anything technically "better" than a paddywagon. So its a choice between whether you want something ready to roll, which you can gradually mess about with / upgrade, or whether you've got the time and budget to undertake a proper personal build. I can highly recommend the latter but I bet you will end up spending more than £200!
