Pretty good, I think, and free calls home and to other V mobiles as I'm on their cable too.

How to avoid this?

Longer Allen nut and a spacer between fork crown and brake

Cheers, just did a bit of googling, coverage seems good as they use orage/TM/EE network, customer service questionable... It's for my gf and she's currently on o2, they have the worst customer care I've ever experienced so I can't see it getting any worse!

When I was with NTL (cable) before Virgin consumed them NTL was utter shit but I have to say Virgin have been excellent overall and we've never had an issue with the mobiles. It can be difficult to speak with a human being when you ring Virgin Media but generally customer service has been very good.

Cheers. I was clearly being a bit thick.
One possible solution would be to pull it apart and buy a cheap caddy for whatever kind of drive is inside the box. They are available complete with power supply for <£10 on t'bay
Hmmmm... I'm not really sure what that means and if I'm comfortable/competent enough to do that. But I'll have read up.

You should be able to borrow/get one for free the USB cable from someone. If not, they are cheap. Then take the device to a shop and ask them for a fitting power cable. Definitely less than a tenner!

I've lost the power and USB cable for my old WD external hard drive and finally realised I'm not going to find it.
I'm struggling to find a cheap power replacement and I'm not sure what types of USB connection this is.
Can anyone help?
Even better would be if someone has an old one with power cables they don't want which I could buy.
Cheers.
Right so I'm clearly having a slow day, but I need a male USB type A to male USB type B cable. In which case these should work, right?

...the thing that's making me unsure is that all of these cables seem to be for printers.
I think this should work for power

Doesn't matter, it will be fine.

That power supply is more sophisticated than you actually need, will work but there are cheaper options.

Anyone know much about electric pianos? the good kind
my housemate has a technics px 6 electric piano, and i spilled a glass of water on it..
it was turned on when it happened but was turned straight off
mopped it up and left it off, my housemate tried to use it this morning and the speakers crackly (least of the worries for now) and doing single notes works but multiple keys ends in bizarre results
turned back off so will leave it to dry out while we're away over christmas, but whats the chance of it being permanent?
these things are freaking expensive...
Maybe try and get some of the covers taken off to allow it to dry quicker, the water shorting across the circuit boards may be making the odd behavior but it may be possible to soak it up with cotton buds or tissue paper (make sure its switched off).
Is it covered under insurance? -

no insurance, student houseshare
i've moved it near the radiator and the heating comes on twice a day,
just have to hope for the best now as the house is empty till next week
-
• #54891
Put it in a house with insurance, make claim.

Get hold of some silica gel sachets. Strip it down as much as you can and put them in the circuitry and speakers. Leave for a week.

I wouldnt have turned it on yet, there is a chance you could short out stuff. But once fully dry there is no reason it should not work 100% providing you have not shorted the fuck out of it.
If there was a lot of water you may want to disassemble to get properly dry. You can use electrical contact cleaner to assist the process too.
