Many of them, like the Campagnolo one have one bolt and a slot so you can adjust the horizontal position of the guides.

Does anyone here have tips for fenders?

I got a fixed for pub rides. White frame with green lugs, alu track drops and white grips. metal style wheels. Something that stays on the bike and looks clean /retro. So no ass savers, fender benders, raceblades etc.

I also would like to have a clean looking chainguard.

Yup, basically to keep the weight down, but IMHO singlespeed would be a better idea (and cheaper) as you're likely to never use both gear.

Nonsense.
I use both gears on my 2 speed all the time. With the limited inertia from the small wheels it's nice to drop into the low gear to accelerate quickly. Especially if you're carrying a load. For the small extra cost and weight it's a no-brainer.

They make fun of the name, yet calling it a mudguard is no less a joke; try using one going through real mud. I would suggest fender is better because it fends more than one thing off, whether it be water, a little bit of mud or the odd piece of shit.
Regardless, I'm still wrapping my head around white frame, green lugs and metal style wheels.
