Ahhhh,
I cannot embed a small slide show from picasa. Everything is in place on picasa, it says to copy and paste your slideshow into your web page but it doesnt work
any ideas? -
• #43329
Stop being a dick and just post pictures like a normal person. We'll be the judges of which ones to look at and in what order.
FWIW, here is the problem:
it says to copy and paste your slideshow into your web page
LFGSS is not your web page, so you don't get to code its pages. At best, you get a very small subset of BBCode which Velocio decides how and whether to parse in html to display to everybody else.

What would be a good, cheap (sub-£150), single speed, disc-compatible 29er wheelset?
I was looking at shimano MT55's, anything wrong with these?

This is what I posted in the android thread.
At the moment, I use an ipod nano with ubuntu as it was cheap. Previously, I've used sansa clips, because at the price they are, they're almost disposable, and whatever MP3 player I get, they seem to only last me 6 months, due to breaking/losing them.
There is also a linux thread which talks about this I think.

Just got my credit card statement for March, and there's a transaction on there that was made in October 2012.
It seems that it's taken over 4 months for the transaction to go from Morrisons to my card issuer - is this reasonable? Or should I kick up a stink? -
• #43338
Go to same Morrisons, buy everything, cancel credit card, leave country. If you have a 4 month headstart you'll be fine.

Sansa Clip + 64GB memory card. Although an iPod classic (non-touchscreen) works fine with ubuntu and can be used with a variety of non-itunes programsme.

Ive decided i will give the Cowon iAudio X9 Super Player 32GB a go...
Got one of them. I'm really pleased with it but I came to it from the most bog standard of mp3 players so anything that looked like an upgrade pleased me (i.e. pictures and moving pictures).
The best bit is the battery time. Goes 'forever' on music - not as long when playing vids. Oh and it'll take a 32gb micro sd card so you get decent capacity too.

Is there a financial advise thread? I've tried searching but can't see anything appropriate; I have a lump of money that I would like to save, where shall I put it?
-
• #43345
I'll look after it for you.
-
• #43346
How much of a lump (Order of magnitude)? Have you used up your ISA allowance?
-
• #43347
Less than a yearly wage more than what you'd want in your current account.
Are ISA's still the best thing? Do I remember right that they're limited to 3k? I haven't had savings for a long time so I'm a bit out of it. Are premium bonds a good idea?

Your 2012/2013 ISA allowance comes into play on the 6th of April 2012. This year, you can invest your whole ISA allowance (£11,280) in a stocks and shares ISA or up to £5,640 in a cash ISA. The Junior ISA limit has remained the same this year, so children can have up to £3,600 invested on their behalf , which they can access when they turn 18.

PM'd
I think cash ISA limit is ~£5700, overall ISA limit ~£11000
Edit: What ^he said.

• #43350
the isa for 2012/13 finishes this week, you could chuck £5640 into a cash isa this week and open a new one for 2013/14 next week and stick another 5640 in that one.
much safer than Paypal.
You only have to supply them with your sort-code and account number - these are on every single check (remember them?). There is very little that can be done with this information.
Once the money is in your account the seller can't reverse the payment/file a paypal dispute etc.
With the faster payments system it should take less than 15mins to clear as well now.
