sram red shifters with 105 mechs. Will it work or am i mad?
-
• #42054
I'd not give that much of a chance I'm afraid, but who knows- if you've got it all you may as well try it.
-
• #42055
i have 300 quid to drop on shifters. there're some on ebay for exactly that,.
-
• #42057
Or if you're dead set on Sram, why not sell the 105 RD and buy a secondhand force one?
Also cheers all for all of the birthday ideas. I like the leatherman/Gerber idea.

44 tooth 110bcd single chainring (10 sprockets at the back), what's good?
-
• #42060
And the next question would therefore be where to purchase said ring, as I cannot find it on XXCycle or SJS?

Chicken & Sons are the UK importer, most LBSs have an account with them. I don't suppose anybody is going to have them in stock, so prepare for a long wait and full rrp.

I got mine from Spa Cycles.

Did you have to call them Andy? Cannot see one on their site
-
• #42065
Maybe I bought the last one? It was some time ago though, at least 18 months I think.

Not specifically a single, but outers in 110BCD 44 are available by the looks of it.
-
• #42068
Yeah, I had a look through that page and I'd prefer a chainring designed for use without a mech- nice tall teeth, no shifting ramps.
Looks like the Surly stainless steel one is the only 44T option freely available.

Can I fit a SRAM Omnium crankset on my SE lager. Well, not me personally but in theory? Starting to get my birthday parts list together to make my bike nicer.

My bro in law doesn't get bikes.
He heard my distress of not having a working one and got my size from the wife.
I've found out it's this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160980468627
But cannot see any nfo but can only assume it's poc which is already overpriced. If he wins I guess I can't say no as it won't fit him I'd rather have had the cash towards the steel track frame I'm after.
What should I do with it?
-
• #42071
Lock it badly and have it stolen.

My bro in law doesn't get bikes.
He's incredibly kind though!
Can't you just sell it on once you sort a new bike out and say you put it towards the new one?

-

I don't see a reason why not.
I have some omniums waiting for my build, they feel fantastic and can't wait to get them on.
