does he drink alkeehawl?
Comestibles are usually the answer, most people these days either have what they want, or don't have enough money (or friends with enough money) to get it. -

That's the tough thing. I kinda want to get something not consumable and will last.
Unfortunately a lot of the classic GQ-ey presents are expensive and I'm not sure he'd want anyway.

9 speed Shimano MTB rear mechs- will the short cage deal with a 32T sprocket?
No, 'cos they don't exist.
MTB rear mechs come in GS (medium) and SGS (long) flavours. M770 XTs will both do 11-34, the length determines the maximum front/rear tooth difference, not the size of the cassette they'll work with.

Is there some kind of London exodus, school holidays or some shit on? The roads have been empty the last two days and it's messing with me head.
I hope the closure of the A4 eastbound at rush hour today sorted out your head. West London was phenfuckingnonemal tonight.

Heh, an ex of mine once said, on my birthday, that she'd looked at a Leatherman, and thought a) it was really cool, b) that I'd really like it and c) it was too expensive so she hadn't bought it. It was £70, I think I'd spent £300 on her birthday- and this was when I was earning £70/week.

If you order leatherman from their website you can have it engraved.
I've got the skeletool - fantastic bit of kit.

If you buy the Leatherman Wingman which is the cheapest butch one (£29 in Clas Ohlson ) and take it to a key cutting place to engrave it you should have a really cool and useful gift for under £40.

-
• #42048

Had my DC4 for years and years, best £10 I ever spent. Hard enough to touch up drill bits and stuff, lives in my pocket all the time.
