  • Bloody lot of money that edmundro!

Did you feel as though you learnt anything from that you couldn't have found elsewhere?

I got it on offer on amazon before Xmas and had a voucher code as well so only paid 45 iirc. Certainly could've found the info elsewhere but it's idiot-proof and easy to follow which helped with my laziness. Cheaper than gym

  • so SWIM is going to eat nothing but protein powder and psyllium husk for every meal for a month to lose weight. I said it sounded odd but I am secretly scared it might work. What do you think?

You don't need to be a doctor to realise this is retarded.

BTW you need to drink a FUCKTON of water if you plan on taking Psyllium Husk.

Before you take some add some to water and watch what happens...

  • Good man Edmundro.

    Pushups FTW.

  • Right, having fallen off of the training & started eating shit since September or so, I put on weight rather than lost it last year.

I need to do better than this. So, I'm starting again. I've managed to keep up the swimming, and my 400m time is passable. I'm now going to try adding in some treadmill and bike work to improve those (spin classes for bike work, turns out I can ride in and out of work quite fast, but that the stop-startyness of it really helps with that, I can't keep going on for any time though).

So, MyFitnessPal has been reloaded on the phone, and I'm off again.

Is there a new spreadsheet for this year?

  • need more shoulder/delt/trap exercises to do. Already got standing rows (barbell, close hands, raise to chin), lateral raises (dumbells, start down by sides, left straight out until arms just above level), bent over raises (like the last one but leaning forward) dumbell shrugs, seated rows (resistance machine) dumbell shoulder press and barbell bench press.

Any others for working deltoids (all round) and traps?

  • Well I've procured Insanity. Just need to find the time. Before work is out as that is <5am and after work is daddy time.

Before bed? Don't know if I could be arsed and probably wouldn't be able to sleep.

  • Cumberland Westmorland Wrestling

Ha - do you know any of the Cumbrians? I grew up near Waberthwaite and have dabbled with it. A few good uns came from there round there.

Top work. I do it at 5am, it gives you such a kicking it's pretty hard going at the end of the day.
Good luck and stick at it, the first week will be hell(well it was for me anyway!) but it gets easier to the end of the month, then month 2 is a whole new level of pain...

  • Do you just get up do it and get ready for work?

  • Would love to give the Insanity thing a stab (minus egg white protein for dinner).
Been working out hard since the beginning of Nov, saw results quickly but it is beginning to slow down. This could be exactly the kind of shake up I need.

But, I have joined a gym and it would feel like a monumental waste of money to go home instead and do a workout for free in front of the computer.
I might see if I can get a portable DVD player and max out my lunchtime in the disabled bogs at work... Then gym after work.

You'll need a shower at least. You'll be fucking drenched in sweat(unless you're inhumanly fit already) afterwards.
It's fine, it's become part of our daily routine now so it doesn't feel like we're making time for it anymore.

I know most of the people on the scene (there's not that many to know, admittedly!).

The Kendal club is one of the bigger ones and I see them about a lot - the Brocklebank and Hodgson families are the main ones that come to mind.

I once got sacked for that

  • I have insanity on a usb stick - if anyone wants to borrow it.

Just back from the gyym - and I'm back down to 84kg (down 4kg this year, inflated by Xmas) - which considering I've been doing whey more weights recently I'm really pleased with.
I haven't been drinking and have been pretty frugal this month - it's helping.

Target is probs 82kg - then stay there.

    Deliberate pun?

  • I'll leave it up to you to decide.

Did you ever get to look at that book Living Lean by Mike Dolce that I recommended? http://thedolcedietlivinglean.com/living-lean

  • I didn't actually, it's on my list but not got round to it!
Will be sure to check it out asap.

  • 5k snow run just now
Insanity and pushups sets this afternoon. If I'm having a day off I may as well make it a productive one.

Trust me on this one. Ive just started it again. dropped to 63 kg and packed a load of muscle on. And the Abs and obliques are back on show.

  • Just out of curiosity, what are people's heights and weights?

All this talk of 60kgs makes me feel like a monster!

Im 5'8''. I usually walk around at 70kg

  • Walk around at 70 and dropped to 63? That's some good work!

    I'm walking around at about 84 and I'm 5'9!

  • 6'2.5 - 84

I've got a pulled groin (was a tear, now slightly healed) the only way for it to get better is to stop playing football - but fuck that, I play 2-3 times a week.
It's making core work a real nightmare - but not drinking beer this month is helping to keep the stomach tyre under control.

Sod it. I'm going to the gym.

  • 6'1.5" - 77
