Is James Jeremy a cunt too?
-
• #2403
No, but Jeremy James is.
-
• #2404
Probably.
-
• #2405
My name is Jeremy.
I can confirm that I am indeed a cunt.
Hope this helps.

• #2406
You're probably not. You might be a bit of a dick from time to time, but we all are.
-
• #2407
So being a dick < being a cunt. That's sexist! ;)

I'm fine. i just pulled myself out of his way as quick as possible.
Not sure, at the previous lights he was beeping before they'd gone green and then came past about 10cm from me. These lights I was position infant of him, so he couldn't zap past me and try to knock me off. I turn around and threw my hands in the air and asked what he had been beeping for, so he started shouting and swearing out of his window. Turned around as I couldn't be bothered with an idiot did then as the lights change I hear him revving and then slamming into me, so I get out of his way and phone the police.Silly little man.
It seems to me that this sort of thing is happening a lot more recently or at least reports of it happening.
Some sort of underlying societal rage fed to the perpetually angry by C'sOTHO like the Daily Mail, Clarkson etc of some mythical crazed cycling menace...?
I was holding primary for a right hand turn yesterday prior to being aggressively revved at by some asshole in a black hatchback (always a black hatchback for me) then forced kerbward as it seemed apparent I was going to be driven over if I didn't do otherwise then was recklessly overtaken. Then said asshole had to slam on his brakes to make the same right turn I was preparing to make and then got stuck straight into a massive line of stationary traffic. Winner.
Also (and this probably should be housed in another thread) but why are so many people cycling with no fucking lights?

The clocks haven't changed yet, so they still think it's summer time.

Props to the chap filtering up to earls court this morning, fixed, hands in pockets. Very zen.

Just left work, got two hundred yards and was hit from behind at a red light by a taxi. Got off the bike and was surprised to find it staying upright, lodged in the bumper.
I pulled it out and he went around the corner to stop. I took the opportunity to get my phone out and hit record. So I have a video of him agreeing that he "rolled into me". I've just watched it back and I really wish I'd said something about it being lodged in the bumper, as the severity of the crash is now his word against mine.
He disagrees with me on the video about the buckle in the wheel: he thinks its true, I can see a few mm side-to-side and vertical wobble. He's a bloke who sees all bikes as £99 BSOs...
So, what do I do? I'm sick and tired of being hit by vans, cars and taxis and the police telling me - six months after reporting it - that they'll be doing bugger all. Does the video help me, or is this going to end with me out of pocket and the driver getting off completely, as usual?
Just had a letter from the police about this: they're taking no action. Obviously with all the video evidence, admission on camera, etc, its just too hard to follow up...
But they did give me his name and address. So what's the easiest way to get him to pay for my wheel to be trued? No-win, no-fee?

yup, look in the accident thread for good solicitors. There's a forum member (Olive Jeffcott (sp?)) who does it too, or I can ping you the number of the people that I'm going through at the moment if you like.
I'm not sure they should have given you his name and address though!
Good luck with it!

Oliver Jeffcott is the man on the forum for such matters.

I didn't really want to do that, but TfL said they won't do anything, the Met said they won't do anything, and if I do nothing, then he'll learn that there are no repercussions to driving into the back of cyclists - which there sort of aren't, it seems...
Any tips for people to use would be very welcome.

Yes, I'd seen that. Thanks to the two who recommended Oliver. I'll drop him a PM.
-
• #2419
I have to say that I can't personally recommend Oliver, as I've never used his services (not a euph), but given the number of forumites who have and can, I'd say it's a safe bet.
-
• #2420
Oliver is looking after my case at the moment, and I would highly recommend him.
-
• #2421
Oliver was very helpful, but my case isn't worth taking on - no personal injury. He told me how I could make an insurance claim but I don't think it'll be worth my time. Looks like I'll be paying to true the wheel and he'll get off completely without repercussion.

Shit in his kettle.

I have his address, but I'm going to remain on the moral high ground and resist shitting into his kettle.

You can probably make a fast track claim in the county court.
It will cost £25 (depending on the value of the claim).
You don't need a solicitor.
You could even use MCOL, but I would go the N1 form route, as you can put in far more details for the particulars of claim.
Read up on small claims procedures.
