BB spacers fit if you have any hanging around. You can buy spacer's for sprocket's too.

Will these brake blocks fit in my calipers or would I need to buy the full shoe version?

Is it poor form to negotiate on price with a wheel builder? They would be supplying both the parts and build.

What brakes do you have?

just had a chainring bolt on the sram omnium shear off when tightened, it was clunking when I was riding along to tighten the sprocket, I gave it a tighten and it disintegrated
does anyone know the spec for the bolts?
i can't find the tech doc on their website

Looks like they should fit then. Those Swiss Stop pads are for Shimano/SRAM brake shoes.
-
• #22284
Any will they come with the screws to fasten them up?

Thanks mate. Wasn't sure if there was a certain shoe I had to use with swiss stops.

@ tatty...
i think the way to look at it is to do some research find out the cost of all the parts, rim, spokes, nipples, hub and then add £50 to £60 quid on and that would be the average you'd expect someone to charge unless they're a mate or you have a really good relationship with your LBS.

Which specific variety is that?

790 - thanks. On this basis my quote looks pretty good so negotiating would be churlish.

[QUOTE=dancing james;2583521]perceived wisdom is that Shimano tend to make the best brakes, so Dura Ace would probably win
Hello, does this go for the brake pads as well? I have recently bought some dura ace brakes off ebay but they didn't come with any pads. I seem to remember reading somewhere that their pads arn't all that good. Is this so or just a personal preference? -

A friend of mine recently got his bike written off by a driver, she has accepted full reliability etc.
He just needs to get a valuation of his bike over to the insurers, but at the minute is having difficulty.
Is the value in what it would cost to replace, it's value before the crash?
He has had it into a shop to value and the valuation seems very low, the spec of the bike is pretty high end - DA 7600/BJ custom frame etc.He just wants a proper valuation, so he can get something as good as quick as poss. I've said I'd try to help him. Please let me know any tips/pointers.
cheers 'Loin

if you could get the full specs im sure the forum could give a rough idea.

Tatty, if you want good wheels pay £10 over what the builder asks. Never haggle with a wheelbuilder.

Why? What's the difference between that and the one on this:
http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-track-bike/Track-Pump-Rennkompressor-Presta-Schraeder/SKSAPUMF300000000000?utm_campaign=Googlebase&utm_medium=organic&utm_source=GooglebaseI think Scherrit's got one so I might have a look at his first. Joe Blow and Lezyne on the list too. Cheers guys.
I don't know what the difference is between these specific ones, but I've only ever had trouble with these older, more simple connectors. I don't know about the one that mdcc_tester posted, but I assume that it's NJS and can barspin. I do know that the one I posted works extremely well for me.
(I should declare an interest as SKS sent it to me for free:
SKS. The rubber seal in the valve head on my Rennkompressor pump was worn out. I e-mailed them asking how to get a new seal and they immediately replied to say they'd send me the new multivalve head free of charge. It arrived asap. Great customer service.
I forgot to say that they sent it from Germany, too--postage cost €6.
)It's still a very good piece of equipment. The SKS valve head replaced by this one hadn't worked well at all, so it was a complete turnaround.

Bob jackson track frame.
DA 7600 hubs laced to Campag Atlanta 97 rims
DA fc7600 crankset
campag record headset.
Cinelli track stem (possibly Nitto pearl)for me to replace this, I can't see there being change out of 1000-1200? But I'm not sure how the process goes (today his wheels were valued at £80 :S) just trying to help the guy out, he just wants to replace the thing.

^This
The party who causes you damage is obliged to restore you to the position you were in before the incident. Put in the valuation of new components at full retail plus the cost of getting a bike shop to build it up. I'd be surprised if nothing on the bike was salvageable, but everything which was damaged should be replaced exactly like-for-like

The frame, cranks and wheels are whats for definite broken/un-usable. cheers, I'll let him know.

DA 7600 hubs laced to Campag Atlanta 97 rims
(today his wheels were valued at £80 :S)do tell where this shop is where you can buy those wheels for £80? name and shame
-
• #22300
Sounds more like they valued those wheels at a price you might want to sell them on for. Not a price where you could replace like for like.
finally got round to changing chainring, sprocket and chain today. the sprocket can't be reversed, is there a washer that i might be able to use to ensure the sprocket is not in contact with the spokes?
otherwise am thinking of using a 3/32 sprocket with 1/8 chainring and chain, to allow a little more play at the rear end
