if you're going to use it for the occasional Richmond Park spin and the like, go for it.
Is that where you use them?

if it's going to be your main everyday bike, not worth it when the Grand Prix 4 season is perfect for that.

I'll be using it atleast 3/4 x a week
Grand Prix 4 Season are all black though, I NEED gumwall you tea strainer!

But the alfine weighs far less. Those i-motions are made out of lead. Plus if your going off road at all, the shimano is apparantly better sealed.
I heard that the I-motion was better for off-road due to its lead-likeness.
Its built like a brick shithouse.but then again on a tourer with full panniers, the little bit of weight difference is not much.
and no, not that much offroading. -

Graham, just paint the damn sidewall.

and no, not that much offroading.I'm putting together an alfine for the SS 29er at some point. Means I can run gears with the beltdrive. Directly over the rear contact patch is a pretty good place for some extra weight if you have to add it.
Edscoble. Make your next tyres Veloflex. Slightly better protection than the deda's (still not commuters), roll beautifully, grip well, and weigh next to nought.

What's that hanging off the saddle, Ed?
I think its a track cog, to symbolise that Ed is still a fixieskidderâ„¢ at heart.
Am i right Ed?.......

keep the brakes they are so nice, after all i think that skeletons doesn't reach low
enough for this frame.
i really like the aligned tires but please get used not messing those gears,
you loose power and parts life...They reach low enough on my dad's Bob Jackson Andax bike, so it'll definitely fit on the Colnago.
Is it entirely possible to fit Ergolevers with the old 8 speed Chorus?

ed - looks nice.
what year/model is the colnago and tubing? got any rusty bits on the frame?
sorry if I missed it in a previous post
-
• #29841
it's SL tubing, and there's no single rusty bits on the frame, just the occasional chip and the like.
as for the year, I don't know, but I think it's definitely late 80's.

Ed I'm currently building up a very similar bike to the one you have, only it has shamals and the straight precisa fork. Its fluoro pink also. I will post a picture when its done. No one wants to buy a 56cm colnago SL super frame do they? I've just bought myself one in the correct 58 size.

There's supposed to be a Mercian one happening.
Talk to Teddy and Jacqui about it, I'm not involved anymore... I'm selling mine anyway...

the Vag arrived just as I was about to leave for rugby so threw it together and rode that instead of the BJ.
First impressions;
Brakes are dogshit - looking for cheap campag dual pivots and will fit new cables.
Not sure I like the Rolls, luckily just picked up a B17 from goreggiego :)

I know what you mean, I seen several colnago in similar colourway, like this colnago master which frankly have a much better paintjob than mine, no internal cable routing though;
And the other Colnago Master, again similar colourway, but with straight fork, probably like your Blankface?;
