Plus in terms of changeability of rear wheel/ getting it out to repair a puncture, the Alfine loses -taking the rear wheel out is apparently a mission, whereas the I motion is simple as pie, as it uses a super cool connector device.
which means I can use it on my bike that will switch between fixed and geared regularly...Also as above, all reviews are super awesome.

I'm pretty sure that modern Centaur would perform better than 80's Chorus, or am I living up to my nickname again?
come on, pick a nice compact crankset and enjoy it.
cinelli has a cork tape that fits i think.
and try not mesh such extreme gears on photos, there are kids
that reading the forum... -

Henry - what don't you like about centrelocks?
I've got them on my MTB and have nary a problem.

the reason for the S3X is I kinda want to keep the beast fixed.
you already have a fixed wheel for it, personally I'd go down the route of Sram over the 3 speed fixed.

that reading the forum...I think I'm going to keep it white, just went up to London and back, really comfortable compared to a fixed wheel, now I'm defintely thinking of upgrading to a 2009 Centaur groupset.
do you want some more info?
Alfine 11 have really mangled things around keeping a consistent Gear step of 14-17% which is pretty good (the step pattern is v. similar to the I motion, but with more gears), and an overall step of 409%, which is better than the I-motion 9that's good to know, my new bike (still has yet to come!!) is currently singlespeed so I can upgrade to an Alfine 11 in the near future.

evil...
a couple of friends had bad experiences with them...
anyways- you can always get an adapter, but the major reasons for the Sram are:- removabilty
- Price and shift ratios (until the 11spd alfine came out and then i thought about that for a bit.)
but still i motion 9 ftw!

But the alfine weighs far less. Those i-motions are made out of lead. Plus if your going off road at all, the shimano is apparantly better sealed.

@ ed
when you posted it in those 1st pics a couple pages back it looked nice, now it looks wicked sick. I think the boring black saddle/tape combo would look nice, but do what you want it'll look lush either way. -

What's that hanging off the saddle, Ed?

How are the Deda's Ed?
They're the best tyres ever, temerous amount of grip that make the Grand Prix 4 season feel a bit ropey, and yes, they're still in Condor, I've just been there to buy the Deda tyres today, pricey mind, at £35 each.
Another thing, they're very prone to puncture due to the lack of protection, it's a pure race tyres.
when are you going to put it on your Pinarello?

Was thinking Deda's too but bit put off due to the lack of kevlar/protection - can't be fucked with doing puncture repairs once a week :-(

its a complicated world.
Oh and the SRAM is cheaper.
