It's a good job Sam doesn't have SKHA status, riding gears would see that rescinded!
-
• #604

-
• #605

I can't bake for shit; I may impress upon my housemate to help me rustle up some power flapjacks on the bank holiday. Don't ask me what the power implies just yet...
This may be a bit of a schoolboy question, but do people tend to ride these geared or fixed?
-
• #614
last ride was five geared, seven fixed. so choose your weapon of choice, stick a decent light on it, and come along.

Great stuff! Any guidance about GI, aside from the length of a piece of string? I usually ride 50x17 through the city and I find that pretty comfortable, but it's usually flat where I'm riding. Does that sound like suicide?.. I just haven't been up a hill in a while :)
-
• #616
50x17 would be suicidal. I think most of the TNRC are riding a gear around the 70" mark. I spin for the win and ride 48x19, which is around 66".

So was I, found it a bit to spiny though...

That's my normal riding gear these days Gina. Saves on my old knees. :-)
-
• #619
I ride it in town as well but it was killing me downhill.
-
• #620
excellent work boys! high quality recce. we'll just have to call the trains later

I am indeed dude. Providing it stays clear I'd like to put myself down as 99%. Darkness and rain droplets on my glasses ain't a good mix. And before anyone says it...I don't do contacts.
Is everyone riding this with clipless pedals? I've been debating whether to get me some shoesies...
@ Wools
The 5th...
Seven days from now...Why?

Thanks for the advice; leg implosion averted...

No worries. Gav (polkinghorn on here) did the Surrey Hills ride last August on a 77" gear. I don't think his knees have forgiven him yet.
