I don't think stretching out a seat tube, even on a steel bike is particularly good idea. can't you just get a 27mm seatpost? I think they shouldn't be too difficult to come by on eBay. Really liking the Pre Cursa!

Edit: ah I see

@PhilDAS I think @sergioflorez is talking about his Broakland, not the Dolan

Apologies. Reading on the train fail

To properly reply then: it's unlikely you could get away with a 27.2mm post in a 27.0 frame if it wasn't intended for 27.2. it would be extremely tight trying to get the post in/might not go in at all.
For the snapping, I'd check the edges of the seat tube aren't sharp/biting into the carbon and that it's not being clamped too tightly. But I'd just use an alloy post probably -

Get the broakland reamed. If it was indeed 27.0 they will find out quickly, if it was 27.2 it's now nice and shiny.
Also, get an alu burly seatpost in the needed diameter. Not snapping like carbon them! -

Thanks. The bike shop couldn’t resolve the issue of the stuck broken seatpost and recommended I get a sawzall.

Nice Dolan, but y no breaks?

Idk I’m lazy and I like skidding *I do like brakes tho would use them when available :/

@sergioflorez oh so there's a seatpost stuck in there now?
-
• #12
Yeah. Due to the length of the post I can’t really latch anything (I own) on to the bottom of it to pry it out from the inside plus I don’t want to damage the frame

Probably would look good with matching Cosmics. For the same reason the Navigator wheelsets tha Dolan used to sell always looked the business on black Pre Cursas

I’m currently saving for another wheelset. I like the Wabi set I currently own. The Cosmic is so much better. Matching Ellipse would be nice, matching tires too. I have no need for tubulars but I always liked the decals on the old Miche Supertype wheelset. That paired with Continental Sprinter Gatorskins. Ambrosio logo clincher. Aren’t those rebranded Miche Pistard? Also my bike currently

My mom asked me from the kitchen to change my drop to a compact one. I said why not and swapped to 100mm Ritchey stem. Very comfortable. Swapped tires off my out of commission road bike.

Loving your enthusiasm for your bike dude
I’ve used it everyday since I got it not too long ago. It’s getting creaky already idk where but it’s fast omg. Dura Ace 165. Sugino 75 48t I’ve had forever. New Dura Ace 16t. Deda Zero 100 seatpost. Wabi cycles wheelset. Fabric saddle from a BMC road bike I could never get fixed again for many reasons. It’s so frustrating. I want to run it over. Expensive junk. As for the Broakland I had prior to the Dolan.. I was misinformed on the seatpost size maybe? Hence snapping it at the seatpost collar. 27.0 as told to me by the bike shop that built the Pre Cursa and I was using a 27.2. I’ve snapped two carbon posts back to back on it. I could try and contact the Broakland frame builder on ig if available. I’d like to get that bike running again. Is it possible to stretch out a seat tube on a steel frame? I hope that’s not the case. I’ve been using an Alpina track handlebar 40cm and FSA Energy handlebar 42cm with an FSA Omega stem 130mm. Thanks for the thread help @user95303
