I mean, an external thread cutting die. Taps are internal.
I didn't mean you should die.

That escalated quick.
I could cut it, wondered if there was a standard fitting I could buy to retain the original part.
I'm pretty sure my current lights aren't near a joist, getting in from above is tricky too. -

Lamp tubing like that is typically M10 threaded tube, you could likely find an off the shelf part for this.

Perfect thanks

M10x1, specific lamp thread, not normal M10x1.5 course bolt thread, FYI.
Lamps Spares is good.

described as ‘the architecture and design of a Swiss watch but built on an urban scale’. In truth, it feels more like a cheap knock-off.
The area was in decline for decades, a poorly conceived opportunity lays waste the social fabric that was once the heartbeat of London. Much like other districts that have become sanitised, soulless, exclusive, characterless, without atmosphere, identity or purpose.
Grayson Perry famously said that ‘rich people don't create culture’ with reference to a lack of social housing in town. Same can be said about the watering holes, small independent shops, diners, cafes gone now forgotten

Anyone here made the trek out to Patrick Gwynne's Homewood. Made it out on Friday (apparently last day it's open to visitors this year) and really enjoyed the design and the stories told by the guides

Opening hours are a bit odd. Autumn was lovely but spring is supposed to be magical with all the bluebells out. If there was one down side, it's that they don't allow photos of the interior. The interior guides were great in terms of giving some history of the building and it's architect

Gold star!
Yeah house looks super 90's but I guess thats when it was made (prob 2000s to be realistic).
Always looked cool when I passed, courtyard was cute and I suspect they also expanded into the adjoining house. -

prob 2000s to be realistic
planning approved in '96, so bang on trend
Cut it then re-thread it then with a tap
