Big hugs Corny
@HatBeard I loved and hated that ride 😂😂😂😂 but really just loved it.
I tried to upload the photo of us walking up Ditchling but FB won't let me save to my phone. Think. You can find it?
I've been on this forum for a decade and I have met and made friends with the most incredible people. I'm with you corny in saying this place has saved my life more than once. The love and the support from total strangers with the biggest hearts.
Forum drinks and forum rides have such a fond part of my memories. I wish we could do more, even now. Sad we all have grown up.

I've made it to the Corny @cornelius_blackfoot shortlist.
I was riding a hybrid, but when I had to pay £100 for a new set of sprockets, thought I needed something simpler. Bought, and still have, a Lemond Fillmore but I am sure I spent hours trying to work out why a Langster was the right idea. My first post related to chain stretch, and if I had paid more attention to the 'slack chain' posts I would have understood.
Went to Norths because the hill was a challenge, and stayed for a number of years. I have never lived in North London.
The forum is solely to blame for the 2 bikes behind me in the study, and others downstairs, but also for some life long friendships.
PS I clearly spent far too long tagging many threads, but mainly the Norths one

I'm pleased to be name checked in such esteemed company.
A quick view shows I, apparently, joined in 2007 but know there was quite a lot of lurking prior. Another check has 274 LFGSS names in my address book so I must have done a bit in my time although why and how I've tagged people is sometimes a mystery as plenty of the names mean nothing.

hey corndog I remember that too. was outside the Siobahn Davies Dance Studios in Elephant. Your sweet Soma was parked up outside when I left.
I had already joined the forum and like @mashton had heard about it in the 'special interests' section of whatever forum a number of us were on. didn't visit again after joining here but there were names like firsthippy, mashtonian, samsonite, jonnywilkinson that all switched across.
first time met many from here in person was on the Dunwich Dynamo 2007. Rode some of the way with John Ma3k and last section with @hippy. Just looked back at the old thread for it and some great names from back then and some still around - Stompy, DDM, Brett, Rob Slamm, Roberto, Scott (BRP), Tommy (the Brick) and many others.
have made some lifelong friends on here and have a few lifelong friends from prior to this place join it.
this place remains excellent. and always new faces, new bikes and new shit in general keeping it fresh.
I joined because I brought a titanium track bike, thinking it was a road bike for small beer from china. Had no idea how to build it up, so went on t’internet to find out, t’internet lead me here, over a decade later I’m still here.
Have to say the forum was the saving of me, providing a group of like minded cycling bods who have became close, close friends, at a point when I was finding it difficult to make new friends and relationships.
And I’ve had so many amazing, laughter filled times with them, some are still on here, and some aren’t. But all of them live on here, unless of course they’ve flounced and become deleted..
Witnessed births, deaths, marriages, and migrations on here.
Still remember my first forum ride, the first bridges ride, out on my road bike as the track bike was still in transit from china, and how every bridge was a sprint along the champs elysees, so much fun! So many forum OG’s. Was dead the next day, had to lie on the sofa to recover.
I’d been on a couple of forums before, and have been on a couple since, but this one is the one I keep returning to..
May up the beer donation to a decent bottle of wine, to show my appreciation.
Ps, there was nothing like the early days of the forum, when I’d spend my time riding round town and sticking spoke cards in the rear wheels of any track bike I came across. Remember putting one into @jonny during an open house one year..
Shoutout to @clefty for the original airfix spokecards, I still have some somewhere, @snowyagain first person I brought/sold from/to, and the amazing bods who I’ve met, spoken to, drunk with and ridden with on here, some that come to mind are :
