  • So my sister and family need to self-isolate for a week

    Wishing them well
The forum will be an interesting, and erm, microcosm.app of the infection amongst a perhaps, healthy cycling community (though I'm worried about @hippy obv)

  • I’m now working from home, so we can isolate as a family. Or at least be really careful about our exposure.

  • Can I cut the bottom off the door whilst it's in-place or will I need to take it off the hinges to remove enough height for the missus to slide plates of food under?

  • Aye, but would it not make more sense to start that now? The govt chap seemed to be saying they need more people to get infected before it’s worth starting to flatten the curve.

  • Weight loss is inevitable
Though still beer in the shops
(and home Brew if you know the right people)

  • Been feeling a cold coming on (rarely get them) and have had a bit of shortness of breath. Any fun suggestions for me and the wife while we self isolate the next week away?

  • The govt chap seemed to be saying they need more people to get infected before it’s worth starting to flatten the curve

    That doesn't make sense
Delaying infection would flatten the curve surely

  • @Fox I think that government advice on self isolation is pretty comprehensive isn't it?

  • I got a bit pointy. I think because of the way you said "high bar etc"

People saying things like "take vitamin d, it will help with Coronavirus" is unhelpful.

I'm waiting for someone to say placebo effect though.

Or something stupid like the post below the one I'm replying to now.

  • Please.
    Can you explain this?

  • Fell running.

  • I'll be roaming the streets, stealing beer and bog rolls before you can say 28 Days Later.

Max Max was an Aus Govt training film...

  • Poor advice. Children at school are not a high-risk category and in any event, and the calculation (currently) to not close schools is that outside of school for any lengthy period, children are bound to play/meet/congregate with other children (depending on age).anyway. Ok if you're a teen and like gaming, self isolation might be a winnig situation

  • People who get through infection (most people) will then be immune and won't spread the virus to others.
They could bolster support to at risk isolated people, and bring in supplies etc. with no fear of infecting them

  • Apols for poor grammar. Wine and hasty typing.

  • Max Max was an Aus Govt training film...

    Not the last film, surely

  • Having just starting getting back to it, I was hoping to get in a decent run tomorrow. Does it still count as isolation if you don't bump into anyone?

  • That’s why I’m asking if anyone can explain the thinking. It seems like they’re basing it on science but I didn’t see enough to get the full picture. Also I’m not that smart.

  • I'd have thought so.

  • i was wondering the same thing. It probably does if you don't touch anything.

  • You're asking people to deliberately get sick. And then return to care for people?
    I have understood what you've written there. Haven't I?

  • Depends how it spreads and not much official info out yet about that, if it can live on your hands then you can be immune as you like but pass it from one person to the other by touch.
