The basic narrative of the least few months is that Johnson and Cummings have miscalculated, gotten fucked, and now spend their days insisting this has not taken place when it quite demonstrably has.

Listening to Boris' customs plan, I can't think of a project less likely to succeed than a brand new government IT system with no precedent in the world, politically motivated and spanning governments, countries, land masses and unions (all of the above) not to mention a necessarily aggressive time frame. It beggars belief.
