haha! I have a point break style image in my head of you two smoking bongs and playing violent video games/thrash when the SWAT squad came crashing in.

And then?

They first phoned the landlord to tell them they'd be coming round for a visit, who then told us.
We didn't have any guns and from what @cake says, they didn't really look like they were looking for guns when they did a very basic search of the house.
CSB I know, I'm just a little bit proud (probably shouldn't be) of the fact I have actually had my place turned over by the police, rather than just worrying about "what if??".
I think for the majority, you're right to question why would they ever be concerned about having their place searched.
For me, not only due to that event, but also because I have an extensive history of being stop and searched on foot and in my car under Section 44, I do worry about what I'm carrying on my person.

I mean, imagine that minus SWAT

Seems strange they just walked in and searched. Did they tell you under what "authoritah!" they were doing it? The landlord's say-so doesn't really do it.
You're clearly a jailbird.
Context for those that might need it.

He seems keen on shooting things too. I'll pass up the chance to trade with him.

I bought one of the Lansky World Legal knives as here;
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lansky-Sharpeners-LKN333-World-Legal/dp/B00IJ93WW2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1532382291&sr=8-1&keywords=lansky+world+legalThe blade is only 2.75" long but still quite hefty in width and all though it does not lock the slip joint is very stiff, I don't think the Old Bill would look to kindly on it if you were stopped, I keep it in my tool box at work :)

Knife sharpening in London? Japanese Knife Company is one option, any other recommendations?

Any interest for a Zwilling Henckels 7" Santoku? In great condition, sharp blade with no dents. Little use and only sharpened a couple time on a steel sharpener. Never used on the stone, as I wanted to practice with cheaper knife first.
Knife + Masterclass 1000/400 for £25 + shipping cost.

Do you trade with people who eat meat but let an abattoir do the nasty work for them?
Impressive dedication if so.

I don’t knowingly trade with people who kill for sport. I do kill my own chickens from time to time and eat them.

Fair enough. I didn't realise that he doesn't use what he kills. It is disgusting just to kill an animal for sport and waste it.
-
• #2092
Blimey. That’s a lot of steel.
I just want an excuse to buy another knife, I think.
-
• #2093
Where does it say he does that??

For the wooden handle of a small knife which would be better?
Three 1/8" pins, or two 5/16" bolts?
-
• #2095
Finally after much dithering I've got my pairing knife.
Still going to be a while before it's built, but at least I have the parts.
Handle will be cherry wood with black and red liners. I was a bit surprised that the liners almost feel like paper, but I guess the epoxy will sort that out.
I went for loveless fasteners rather than corby bolts as they're more forgiving if the counter sink isn't perfect.

Ah now I have a story to tell, involving the met, and blunt kitchen knives.
So far my 'legal team' are discussing how much it will cost the met for me to go away.

Ok, a bit...do you think it was related to your ethnicity?
Didn't Indra have a few issues too?

I have joined the Opinel No.8 owners club. /csb

Only that the red one is a special edition for Heinnie - so I assume they bought a large batch at a good price.
