I like Shimano parts and have always had good experience using them.
BTW they did
Clutch mech ≠ 1× group. I want a Shimano LH hydraulic drop bar lever without shift mechanism/Di2 buttons.

• #3778
That's exactly what I want, that they don't do.

SRAM is really good.

How difficult is it to take out the shifting internals? Especially on the DI2 parts.. You're just a left shifter disassembly away from a 1x group. Ohh and a 3rd party N/W chainring. If you really want this, it's really low effort.
And @LeePaton is right.

The thing that would really bug me would be that the lever would still move on all 4 axis... so SRAM it is!
-
• #3784
SRAM left, Shimano right

• #3785
Whoa there, calm down Satan!
-
• #3786
Use the left shifter to activate a dropper post
-
• #3787
True that! That's what makes Shimano mechanical groupsets a no-go for me..
But with the new ultegra and dura ace you could get a DI2 front shifter since the mechanical and electronic shifters are nearly identical. Sounds like a plan to me.

still say use Sram if the levers bother you so much.
Personally I like 2x

I have thought about ripping the internals out of a LH shifter and trying to lock up the lateral lever movement somehow but it seems a hell of a bodge.

I believe someone on here did something with the climber's button thingies that sit on the tops (I don't know anything about Di2, leave me alone!) and single-speed levers, instead of brifters. If you're riding gravé stuff that setup would be suboptimal but probably fine. Pair up with TRP Hylex.

@5awyr The whole assembly comes out easily enough, but it's messy and makes the lever rattle around.
Climber buttons have a controller in them and it's a faff splitting them up. Sprinter buttons are easier, but you still have to splice them to make them longer. Again. Faff. Fun to hack though.
I ran a 1x di2 hydro system. I just reprogrammed the buttons to do different things. At a later date, I had a mate go even more wizardry and edit some shiz to allow me to control aspects of the Garmin. Now that was pretty fucking neat.

Dunno. If Shimano made a 1x hydro/mech group, I'd buy it. But I'm happy enough with SRAM S500 levers and a Microshift bar end shifter with BB7s and a Zee rear mech.

1x XT Di2 with sprint buttons within the hoods of the Hylex hydros. XT junction box/display. Works well.

How are the Riddlers?

Rated, highly. Best 700C all-rounders I've used. Suprisingly smooth and fast on tarmac. Wish they did an equivalent in 650x50.

Good work

A big upgrade is the new Ultegra Di2 shifter and have both levers shift the rear derailleur, least that what I have planned

Arkose Geo seems really long?
Should I stick with my usual stack/reach or go by the size guide?
-
• #3800
It's a bit longer than most, aim is to use a stem a bit shorter than most. Whatever bike you go for I'd not take one set of R+S figures over to the new bike, personally. Geo and balance, handling etc vary a fair bit on bikes like this.
Why prefer Shimano?
