Haven't been in this thread for about 5 years, but the first official Wests was in 2007, so it'll be 10 years and not 9 :0) I should know, I can still remember the hangover.

Any idea/memory of the location of that 2007 first West Beers?

Ah, thanks, Sam, I don't know how I made that mistake--for some reason, I thought the first was in 2008. The thread must have been re-dated since then. :)

I seem to remember someone posting a picture of very early (probably unofficial) West drinks at the Ship. That picture may have had hippy and/or Murtle in it. I have no idea when that was, but I'm pretty sure I remember it was before the first 'official' one.

Anyway, even better to have a ten-year jubilee.

I have a photo somewhere of a few of us sitting outside at a pub. I have no idea where that is.

I think I remember that was at the Ship. Why don't you consult your meticulously-kept beer diary? :)

Too early for medlars,
but the bounteous hedgerows of Ruislip are slightly less burdened with their crop of damsons, (thats Zwetsche not Pflaume), and of course sloes, after my foragings.
If it happens, I'll bring some damsons along.

Zwetsche not Pflaume

It's "Zwetschge" where I'm from, but it varies regionally.

It's the Red Lion in Barnes, the tree has now gone but the railings on the wall are pretty distinctive as is the junction.

Indeed. We had met up to do a lap of Richmond Park then went there for beers.

I'm glad to be a founding member of two different compass beers. Central @ The Lamb being the other. I narrowly missed being at the first ever South's as well. Shucks, missed a hat trick.
