  • Cheap tyres, michelin world tour. Wasn't sure 38mm would fit so got these as they are gumwall and 35mm. Once they wear out I might try the 38mm paselas or even some of the expensive options.

  • That looks so good! Really digging the colour scheme!

  • Slow going. Got some of the front end sorted and am fiddling with a piece of alu to braze on as a light mount. The rack is too big and my propane torch too weak to get things hot enough though. Not sure what to do, probably get some mapp gas as I could use that for brazing steel as well which I want to get into eventually.

  • Can't you just drill and bolt though that join? At least temporarily?

  • +1 for drilling holes.
You run the risk of compromising the welded joint for the strut.

  • coming up real nicely! :)

I always order 4-5 extra spokes each time when building just in case

  • Thanks. In recent developments, I can report that mapp gas with a proper burner attached creates a fucking inferno compared to the propane thing I've used previously. The rack now looks a bit shit, we'll see how it cleans up. No pics of it yet.

  • Great thread mate. Subbed.

  • Not finished filing etc but it seems like it'll work!

  • Front end toil and torment continues. In this thread I managed to piece together a qr arrangement for my rando bag. That setup was black though and obvs won't do on this build. After a lot of searching I found some silvery alloy gopro mounts on ebay which I shimmed to fit the 26.0 bars, drilled a few holes and attached some rack bits from the parts bin. Seems to work so far.

  • this is some really nice shit!

Noticed you're in Göteborg, such a nice city! I envy you

  • Well, the rear has its challenges as well. No eyelets there so installing and removing rear wheel is a ball ache. Cut some slots in the qr mudguard stay attachment things which does away with the need to completely remove the qr every time at least. Also mocked up the rear light placement and drilled guard for internal wiring.

  • Will be running the cable in the nds lip on the inside of the mudguard.

  • Am almost set on drilling the down tube somewhere at the head lug and routing through there as well. Have seen a few examples online and noone seems to have died from it yet.

  • Crazy amount of diy on this bike. It's gonna be awesome 🚴

  • Totally agree - something about the green Flite really pleases me.

  • Thanks. Without further ado:

  • Cue lots of comments about frame failure :)

  • Hehe, hopefully functional. Ok got things routed and heatshrunk all the things, just the final bit through front mudguard and exit at headlight left now. Then I can put the cranks on!
