Green wrap is awesome!

Also learning about rebuilding ergo levers as this one didn't shift right. Turned out to be a broken "g spring". Ordered a replacement which will hopefully fix things 👍

Crank anodising wouldn't come off with oven cleaner. Stirred up a nasty lye solution which did the trick. Wasn't really in a position to take any pics of the process though. You have to be fast as it eats up the aluminium otherwise!

I think it looks alright.

Think I've ordered all the parts for getting this up and running now. Wheels will (I think) violate a few rules as I got butted spokes for the ds rear but plain gauge nds due to the lengths available in the PX sale - but who's going to notice or care with a 36 spoke wheel with smallish diameter. I also sold the london road bike yesterday which feels great, never got on with it really. This means I now have funds to get a spendy front dynamo light (already asked in the dynolight thread), which is the best silver high end light?

I guess that still is the Supernova E3.
I think it looks the best, purely aesthetic wise though.

I have the best LBS in Sweden I think. They had a very lightly used supernova E3 with a custom upside down front rack mount that someone returned after changing their mind. Got it for ~£70. And then from the depths of a drawer, a rear supernova made for mudguard mounting. Not supposed to exist but he'd gotten a few prototypes and this was the last one. Charged me £35 for that. Dynolight porn!

Can't yet as most other stuff needed is still in transit. Itching to get started on the wheels!

Excellent build, looking forward to seeing more.

Do you do wheelbuilds for locals if provided with "svår öl"?

Would need an awful lot of beer ;)
Seriously though, I wouldn't want anyone elses smashed up teeth on my conscience. Better to have a professional do it.

Speaking of clueless tinkering, I've finally bought some alu profiles to try out the alu brazing rods I got from ebay a couple of months ago. Hopefully I'll learn enough to be able to make an extra eyelet on the front rack for my new fancy light. Watched a couple of youtube vids and got to work.

Didn't look so bad for a first attempt I thought, but a couple of smacks with a hammer revealed that no solder had flowed in the joint at all. More heat needed next time!

You can use zinc to braze aluminum: link in swedish

Tack! I have 10 of these rods to go through though, hopefully I'll get the hang of it eventually.

Boring update as I didn't take any pics of the process (can be found easily on youtube). Managed to get these assembled again and knock on wood, they appear to be functioning as they should. Got a cryptic text from dhl about a parcel circulating in the area, hopefully it's the rims.

Finally! Although PX true to form sent me 35 right length spokes and one 50mm shorter than the rest.
Correction: two short spokes. One only slightly shorter though so didn't notice and fucked the build up completely before I found it.

Aaand remembered that I was on lfgss so; what are the tyres please?
I hope not. Why?
Edit: aha, yellow & purple. I didn't connect, not being in or from the UK. The frame is older than ukip at any rate!
