Moto G isn't turning on after plugging into a car USB charger. Odd.
I'm going to do the below that I found online.
Does anyone know if going via the flash boot will delete recent photos that hasn't been backed up?
Cheers
This is our recommendation as well.
Plug it into the charger
Hold the VOL DOWN key
While still holding the VOL DOWN key, press and hold the POWER key
Hold both keys down for over 120 seconds. This is more than two minutes and will seem like a long time. You might want to time yourself to make sure you hold it longer than two minutes.
After holding the keys down for more than two minutes, release them.
The Flash Boot screen will display, and the Normal Reboot option will be highlighted
Press the VOL UP key and the device will start a normal reboot.
We're working to eliminate this issue in a future update.
UPDATE:
If you have tried the above and it didn't work, try this:
Plug in the phone for 15 minutes.
Proceed to Step 2 above.

My Z3c stalled completely - dead, black, nothing - even when put to charge. Left it unplugged from charging and it came back to life after 20 hours solitude.

Flash rebooting should not affect anything on the phone (unless you factory wipe it by mistake).
It should also not take 120 seconds - more like 10 - 15. From the phone being off - hold the volume down key, then hold the power on key. When it powers on, release the power key, then release the volume down key.
You're probably better off plugging the phone into a PC though, so that you can see what's happening via android bridge. Your battery may be toast though - I've had one Moto G bit the dust before.

Cheers all.
Still unsure exactly what happened, but I've managed to resuscitate it.
The battery seems to be OK, but I guess if it's on the blink then it's hard to know for sure.
Got to say I'm massively impressed by the Moto G (3rd gen). If you are a heavy user utilising the fullness of a smartphone's potential it might be a bit underpowered. But for general use it's great.

Instagram on 5X running Nougat keeps crashing, over and over again, it's really quite annoying. Just me?
-
• #17832
Mine is working fine but I did install it after nougat. Not sure if related at all.

• #17833
Mine's fine too...
-
• #17834
Also fine and had installed before Nougat - try uninstall and re-installing it?

^ If you're going to uninstall & reinstall, clear out the cache & dalvik cache. Which you should do when you upgrade the ROM in any case.

I wiped my entire phone.
That'll teach it.

I hope with a soft, damp cloth, free from detergents.

Factory reset.
The whole story around having a Google Apps account as your primary account is not a good one.
Got into a fight with it about device management. I lost. Decided to take revenge.
It did fix the Instagram thing though.

Whats that?
And @TW I meant instagram, not the rom

If you upgrade the OS / flash a new ROM, you should consider clearing the cache & dalvik cache.
If you don't do it, and you find issues with apps, you should consider doing so - even if you are also re-installing the apps.

Things not available to Google users with an Apps account:
- Google Fi
- Google Spaces
- Trips
- Allo
- Play Music Family Sharing
- Play Library (apps) Family Sharing
- YouTube Red
But also... device management via the "Find my device".
If you are an apps user then you need a policy applied and devices to be managed by the apps account, which I could never get working. Yet it won't allow the domain account access to the Gmail version of the device management tool.
I made the mistake of trying to use the "find my device" functionality, and the only way to back out of it was to factory reset the phone.
- Google Fi

Also... https://www.google.co.uk/android/devicemanager?u=0
That cannot find my TV.
My TV... which is at home, with location services enabled, and connected to the WiFi which Google knows the location of.
Damn apps accounts.

Eeesh. That sucks.
-
• #17844
Yeah.
And I do not have a Gmail account.
Oh... a couple more things for that list:
- Google Now is limited in what it shows from emails
- Google Inbox to Calendar is limited in what it copies
- Google Now is limited in what it shows from emails

You can get bits off ebay, but be careful you don't buy something shit (I did, it was a waste of time and I sent it back). The process is quite easy though ifixit has a walk through.

Oh god. No. I want someone with screwdriver skills to do it.

I did my Hudl. Assuming it's much the same it was pretty straightforward - and my hands are most hamfisted for fiddly stuff.

I'm in the same situation as you.
I gave up trying to apply the correct policy to enable those services (particularly family sharing for Music) and gave up after wasting hours on it.
Glad it isn't just me who is struggling.

e-Global Central. Has anyone used this website? Specifically, they seem to be the cheapest place to get the Nexus 5X.
Any reasons why I shouldn't get one through these guys?
Had a play with the 5x last night made me realize how crap my s3 really was! I took the risk and updated to Nougat and its all working fine for me.
Now to have a play with the icons etc and make it look a bit nicer
