Are there any good resources that would allow you to plot a route and then add notes and stuff to it? Like an electronic version of a map with sticky notes attached?
I think RWGPS might sort of do what I want but it's a bit clunky. Google Earth has some kind Trip feature that might do something similar but I'll need to look at that.
Any other interesting tools for planning a trip?

Interest accepted no later than Sep 15th. I guess that means Nathan is updating the website for 2017?

Is that the name that Jesse and crew settled on for the Trans Oz thing?

That's very tail-heavy with the climbing :)

Might be upping the ante after TCR.
He was planning on coming over to London after TCR- Laura Scott was going to organise something vegan and beery. Hopefully thats still the case, I'll post up if so. -

Yes, Jesse's venture. Climbing at the end though, something to look forward too and I should be suitably skeletal by then.

Nathan is coming to London? It'd be cool to meet him. More info about TABR = better.

That's what I mean. It's gonna be fucking flat for days and then you'll hit all your climbs over towards the east coast. Oh, I'm assuming it goes west to east of course.
I'd like to do that kind of thing one day but going to Oz is too much of a ball ache. I'm heading back for Xmas and that'll do me for another 5 years :D

Hi guys, I'm looking for a new challengues (local challenges, better).
For next year maybe London-Edinburg-London... depend of the calendar, but I'm looking information about the Land's End to John o' Groats route.
I don't know what it's the record od the route in unsupported style,
Any information about that could be fine to think in bite it! :DAnybody have the trakcs of the route?

@hippy is the man to talk to
The record is 44 hours and a bit. I'm not aware of an unsupported record.
There are loads of route variations but the fastest involves some not very pleasant roads. Also, while LE is not too far from Penzance station, JoG is not an easy place to get away from - unless you ride on and go for 1,000 miles. -

Here I can find a GPX.. bt I don't know if it's "official" because have a lot of different routes.

44h 5 min suppos an average of 36 km/h!
Something truly amazing or incredible (I am skeptical) -

The record is 44:4m:20s by Gethin Butler (http://www.rra.org.uk/). I had a crack at it in 2014 but training never really worked well so I abandoned the official attempt and we did an unofficial one for shits and giggles which I pulled the pin on in Penrith as it was just too slow. I may have another go but to be honest it's a very unpleasant record that requires a massive tailwind and a bunch of people ready to go with a day or two notice to observe and support. Basically it's a massive ball ache and I've got more interesting stuff to do with my life. I've not totally dismissed it but I'll leave it to others for now.
There are no records for unsupported because Guiness and RRA don't distinguish between supported and unsupported.
If you just wanted to ride it, Audax UK have a longer, more interesting, more pleasant route. http://www.aukweb.net/perms/, http://www.aukweb.net/perms/detail/MH03/, http://www.aukweb.net/perms/detail/MH01/, http://www.aukweb.net/perms/detail/MH99/

No, Gethin's average speed is just below 31kph for an ~840mi route.

...Jasmijn Muller is planning to have a shot at the women's record next year
There isn't an official route for it: you choose your own.

Got a few friends doing this, gutted I couldn't get time away from work :(

I'm doing the Torino Nice Rally. Training has been a bit rubbish this year so may not go at the full route. It's one of those nice events where you can just have a bit of a go and see what happens. Mainly I'm set on having a nice holiday and having a dip in the Med in my burkini.
