  • I do, thank you for reminding me again that I'm a terrible person at retuning that tool.

  • Yeah with some softjaws.

Mine don't creak - can't say I was liberal with the locktite

  • Shame they didn't get a bike fit first.

  • That is rad! Nicely done. Also looking to get a older mtb possibly "beast of the east"

Picked up a "black lightning" recently thanks to @D_Mars. Was gonna build it up all original Suntour and etc but ended up going with Modern Campag.

  • Just ordered new frameset - 60cm Supersix Evo Hi-mod (2015)

Gonna port most of my Ultegra 6700 groupset over, but thinking about a new crankset. Would like a 52/36 instead of current compact gears. Undecided whether it should be Shimano (w/Praxis adapter)/SRAM/Rotor... Any recommendations?

Also need a recommendation on a carbon 27.2 seatpost that'll take oval carbon rails.

  • Praxis Turn zayantes look good.
Hollowgrams with 52/36 praxis or the newest spider chainrings come in 52/36 as well I believe?

  • Been lucky enough to test a fair few 140mm equipped bikes so far and it feels like classic Shimano 4 pot brakes of yonder days. Nothing...nothing...nothing BITE! Modulation onthe 160's is much better.

@dancing james U mad bro? and miss the upsell. Besides once you go disc, it sorts all your fit problems. It's modular or something.

@countryboj Absolutely love that. oozing class

  • Slate and mini gios

  • Oh hello, do tell us more..

  • My mate got it last week so had a little test today

  • ^^^ So. Much. Want.

  • Just cleaned my caad10 for the first time in ages. Bought and used muc-off for the first time and am amazed at how clean it came up.

Perhaps being a bit rash in deciding I want a new cannondale.. New set of carbon wheels perhaps? Would probably drop more weight than going for a supersix?

  • Well, the stem and seat clamp arrived today and now it looks like this:

I'm a little annoyed as the stem didn't come with a top-cap. As it's unique to this stem, I thought the seller might have mentioned that...

  • The advantage of the 140mm is that it's slightly less prone to warping, slightly lighter and look cleaner.

The disadvantage is that it's heat up quicker than 160mm, even with those ice tech fin jobbies.

  • Is heat dissipation a thing? I would imagine so on alpine descents, most UK and CX situations less so?

  • It's definitely a thing. Probably alright for Pros who can actually ride down a mountain but I bet we see crashes from fat blokes dragging their 140mm rotors down Alps and boiling them.

  • loving this dude

  • I'm a little annoyed as the stem didn't come with a top-cap. As it's unique to this stem

Looks like the same model of stem as on @7Üp 's Dale. The caps's just a plastic thing that's easily damaged, as I remember it.

    Bike looks great though :-)

  • Thanks guys - it was just a lucky find!

Yeah, the stem caps were either aluminium or plastic but seem quite rare and, as they're an ellipse a little harder to bodge.

  • I may end up with a spare set of Hollowgram cranks, that may look a little like this:

  • What about older dudes hacking around CX courses in the UK?
    Asking for a friend.

  • Nope.

Although you could boil your brakes touring around the hilly bits of the UK.
