  • Beer/cheese/wine shop up top of Gipsy Hill

  • So many breweries over there. So many taster flights. Much drunk. Very tired.
Still, not bad considering there's half a 24hr tt in there and I was doing all the driving.

  • a good beer up!

leg alright there and back then?

  • I was very careful on the way over - drank beer to force me to use the toilet and did so many calf raises I actually strained my calfs!

On the way back I didn't get up as much and dozed off a bit but made sure I had quite a few drinks before I got on the plane to thin the blood :)

Also had aspirin both flights and wore my DVT socks. So far, so good.

  • good to hear :)

  • If you're in Santa Cruz, go here:
    http://www.lupulosc.com/

We were in a massive rush so I wanted to just grab a bottle and run but the local brewers only had draught options and I didn't want a growler so Ryan just bought me the taster of the 831 which was mighty nice of him. So, go there.

  • That's an impressive list @hippy

Popped by rapha.mcr for a Ticketybrew, no licence at the mo tho. A fizzy orange and Choc Brownie later I'm having to drink Cloudwater DIPA at home instead, oh well...

  • Not a bad way to spend the night in

Popped back to Good Taste to claim my free beers and ended up staying there for an hour drinking more free beers. Had some Blubus Maximus which I'm not sure about, just tasted like tart blueberry juice really

Weird Beard's Black Christmas is delicious.

  • Off to Ghent tomorrow so will try and track down some new stuff.

  • Ghent is my favourite place in Belgium, can't stay there too long as I'll get fat on the cubodon sweets.

  • If you can get it De Struise XXX Rye Tripel is epic.

  • More Cloudwater loveliness

  • Really need to get hold of their porter

Popped to the eebria tap room today as Northern Alchemy were doing a tap takeover. Had the vanilla and Lemon oatmeal stout, galaxy sour and coffee and Orange pale ale. The latter was a bit of a headfuck being pale but amazingly worked.

  • On the Wild Beer Co Bibble right now. Very tasty drop.

  • Really need to get hold of their porter

Cloudwater? I'll be looking for it too if so, not been past their IPA's/ DIPA as yet.

  • Yeah they have a porter out. Only seen it online so far.

At a house party and the host has bought some Adnams Southwold Innovation IPA and its really really good

  • Ace, hopefully being local it'll appear locally, nowt mentioned on my nearests twitter as yet tho.

    Enjoy the party & IPA!

  • Kernel tap takeover at the Kings Arms was good last night. Stuck to the pales and IPAs as they're pretty much the best at them

  • Brew dogs born to die is interesting. Super hoppy and verging on syrup like in consistency. Enjoyable though in small volumes

  • Found some Westvletern in Ghent. Not sure it was worth the massive premium but it was lovely. Had quite a few other big hitters over the course of about 14 hrs drinking yesterday. #pro

  • Keep an eye out for bottles in shops. We managed to get it for 8 euros a bottle in Antwerp.

  • Cloudwater Porter sourced, bottle.

Drinking High Wire Grapefruit Pale, another belter from Magic Rock.

  • I've still got the two bottles from the German whisky festival in the cupboard.

  • Boast post

I was afraid the ones in Antwerp were fakes so I only chanced on one and discovered when I got home that it was the real thing. Should have bought more.

  • 8 euro is only like 2p anyway so I'd have stocked up.
