  • Any suggestions for a tablet, doesn't matter how poor the spec or screen, with wireless charging or a docking station? Will mainly be used for controlling lights, tv, htpc, etc through a few apps so very few challenging things

  • I have a Pebble and a LG Wear watch. The Pebble is the 'go to' wearable.

    Go Go Gadget CIA-Intercom

  • Got the Lollipop upgrade on my HTC One M8. I was nervous about installing it, but I love it so far. Has really sped things up and I like the new keyboard and notifications stuff.

Will see how battery is today.

Anyone have any tips on cool new things in lollipop?

  • Wow!

Battery life as of now is 95%, having unplugged at 7am this morning.

That is insane and I don't really believe it.

  • Does anyone have a recommedation of a screen replacment service in Old st/CIty area for a Nexus 4? The wife has just smashed hers and is very sad..

  • Mine last nearly two weeks, but that because I got bluetooth off the majority of time.

  • I'm passing the moto g on to mrs jaw who now also needs a dual sim which means I'm in the market for a new dual sim phone. Anyone here used a Samsung a5?

They looked great (for a Samsung) with full alloy body and a good snapper but I've only ever had stock android (nexus) or as close (moto g) to on my android phones.

Can I get something similar on a Samsung?

  • I need a dual sim too... I'm listening...

  • Mine last nearly two weeks, but that because I got bluetooth off the majority of time.

Why? The whole point of the watch is to talk to your phone and display notifications. You may as well wear a hipster Casio...

  • Nexus 4 screen replacement is very straghtforward. I have done about 6 in our household (don't get me started). Just buy the bits on ebay. Make sure your get one with a frame and Bob is your uncle.

  • Cause it got an amazing vibrate feature that's much better than leaving my phone under the pillow.

I used the feature sporadically, like when riding for instance (controlling music via iPhone).

  • I think with my Nexus 4 signal issues etc I'm going to have to start looking at something else. Anyone else got a OnePlus? My only fear is coming from a Nexus 4 is that it'll be wayyyyyy too big.

  • Just bough an bq aquaris 4.5". Amazing for the price, seems to works as well as my former nexus 4 was

  • Lollipop for my S5.

  • as Im the king of muppets and gone and lost my phoen over the weekend, i have to get a new phone quickly.

I had the N4. I would like something the same size(ish) and current top contender like the N4 was back in the day.

    Whats the suggestion? M8? N5? S5?

  • Get the Sony Z3 compact, if you don't like it you can give it to me.

  • Any other nexus 7 users regretting the "upgrade" to lollipop.

  • Z1 compact if you can find it cheap

  • I love it on nyphonet (HTC one m8). On my first generation nexus 7 it has made a slow thing still be slow.

I might try and ROM the n7 back to its original OS. It used to be snappy.

  • Let me know how that goes on for you, I've done a factory reset and it's still as slow as me typing.

I spent a whole day at "work" last week trying to install a custom ROM on a galaxy fame. It left me mad.

  • Nexii are designed to be ROM'ed so it should be easy. Bear in mind that I will probably get round to this at some point in the 2020's

  • installing ROMs is dead simple. Takes 4 minutes. My nexus 5 last two days easily. Usually running SlimLP.

You only got to install ADB and FASTBOOT on your computer the youre off to the races. Head over to XDA, do a Saturday morning of clicking around and get to it. Read before you ask. Ask before you flash. Its especially easy with Nexus devices.

    I recommend SimpleAOSP or SlimLP

  • XDA proves it isn't simple - every tutorial has 8 pages of questions because the tutorial wasn't quite as straight forward as written.

  • It's easy once you get the hang of it but most of the guides appear to be written from a position of knowledge so you've got to be careful not to miss out things that are taken for granted.
Lollipop on my Nexus 5 is slow (the screen likes to redraw each time I press home) and gives significantly worse battery life.

8 pages!? Dear me. There 2000 pages of HHSB on this site.
