Tempted to buy another set, £90s cracking especially since the cleats are like half that anyway!

Anyone get rocking with their speedplays?
Noticed mine are rocking a bit the other day.
-
• #204
I've been told it's the cleats wearing out, but I'm not sure. It never seems to bother me much.
-
• #206
I think it might be a bit of both. My cleats rock more on my old pedals I have on my commuter than the newer ones I have on my nice bike. They still rock a bit on the new pedals, but are definitely more secure

Is what the cleats?
-
• #208
Bir poor if it's the pedals. I can't have done more than 4000 miles.
-
• #209
The cleats wearing out that causing lateral rocking?
-
• #210
I have a problem breaking c-springs not rocking. I guess it could be either part wearing out that causes rocking though.
-
• #211
OKay thanks. I'll try some other cleats and see.

got the same rocking on the up stroke, wacked new cleats on and no probs.
worn cleats?

Ok I am tired of this C ring breakage bullshit; might switch to exustar for affordibility .. if any one is keen I have 2 pairs of zero pedals one red other blue.
-
• #215
I must have 15,000 miles on the same set of cleats, possibly more - they have never broken a C-ring.

Speedplay Zero Stainless is the one to go for, right? (I ain't no weight weenie).
-
• #217
Can be, or get the chro-moly and replace with ti-spindles spindles, but for no hassle - stainless
-
• #218
How!? I am doing everything they asked me .. clean lube etc.
-
• #219
Did you ride with them yet?

Those aero speedplays are a whole new world of sexy compared to standard speedplays. They arent going to be cheap though.
-
• #221
Yeah shout. Will buy them!!

Why. They seem to be little more than the standard Speedplay Zeros + golf ball dimpled rubber coating on one side. I'm sure you could make them yourself with a few packs of Sugru.
While I like the idea of cleats I'm not terribly certain that it'll make any aerodynamic difference. The roughed up surface of Sugru (from being walked on) versus the dimples of the aero (after being walked on over a prolonged period) or Speedplay's new rubber covers (which should be much softer and more than Sugru)?

They push my buyer buttons.

There are two Zero schools: One gets the "Made in the US" stainless and the other grabs for the cheaper CrMo with its Chinese axle and then immediately upgrades it with a 3rd party Ti axle.
You think? I suspected the same and checked them out and couldn't detect any unevenness. Maybe it's too subtle to eyeball?
