No ti axles please, it'll go on the audax bike.

Ed get stainless.
Wiggle have them on deal too.
-
• #229
For £90, that is a total bargain.
-
• #230
They're £75 on trade, not too shabby, the cheap one is £50.
Will go for stainless.
-
• #231
How much are their cleats on trade?
-
• #232
No point in knowing if you don't work in the cycling industry TBH.
And no, I'm not getting them for you, even if I don't get paid enough to work.

Have I bin scobled?

more like your dreams have been Indra'd

I've noticed rocking in my cleats recently on a couple of pairs of shoes - one of the sets of cleats can't have done any more than 2,000 km. Fucking annoying - especially as it seems to be more on my left side, which is the knee i've had problems with for all my life and is probably contributing to shitty tracking/ knee pain I've had returning recently.
Stupid pedals.

Same here dude. Swapped cleats and all good. Think it's the yellow plastic wearing down. Not that impressed. I've done like 5000miles I guess. So maybe that's fair.
-
• #237
Annoying - have used Keep on Kovers with them since new too.
-
• #238
Yeah it's not that though. It's he yellow where it wears on the pedal/spindle.
-
• #239
Ah. Must be my outrageous peak power then.. or something.
-
• #241
What's the weight saving over normal spindles?
-
• #242
std length ti axles weigh 28g each apparently. No idea what the stainless or cro-mo jobs weigh.
-
• #243
Basically you could buy some used cro-mo zero's, pimp them out with ti axles, butterflys and screws and have a pedal that was lighter and cost less that Ti zero's.
-
• #244
No fucking ti axles!
-
• #245
You paint them back and stitch leather around them if you want..
-
• #246
lol
-
• #247
No fucking ti axles!
Then just keep it on your bike!
-
• #248
But is weaker and will likely cause you InstaDeath™

I've got the build of a 7 year old girl. No chance of breaking anything for me. Ed might be bigger though..

Today's Ti axles are indeed weaker than their steel counterparts but are not weak by any measure. We are not talking about Ti axles from the last century. Most of the 3rd party low cost Ti axles are made of TI6AL4V. Speedplay pedals have inboard needle bearings so the flex of the axle is less of an issue--- a wear issue but not a horribly significant one (the outboard bearings are easily replaced). A number of very large strong cyclists are using Speedplay's Ti Zero and Nanogram pedals. They are not breaking--- in fact when I've heard of axles breaking over the past few years it has almost always been steel and not Speedplay.
I need to get back on my keywins. Then maybe my speedplay curiosity will ebb.
