It is really a stupid situation, a reminder that almost everything online is so fragile a lives shorter than a compact disc. I enjoy reading here once in a week and see the progress in building techniques and automation ideas (that I like most, feels like looking at Henry Ford in a Garage haha). Also the look and feels of LFGSS is awesome simple, in contrast to Discord, or other forum applications. Really sad to expect an end to it =(

LFGSS and Microcosm shutting down 16th March 2025 (the day before the Online Safety Act is enforced)
[Edit / was posted above] Oh I read it here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42433044

I have mounted our Corian sink seamless, and it is really awesome, from a cleaning perspective and touching it is so satisfying. From a DIY perspective it is meh (getting the glue gun for example) but it can be repaired I think even more easily than wood, like sanding, re-glueing pieces into it invisble – but I guess @Dramatic_Hammer someone is mounting this for you, so no DIY advise needed?

Finally I was weak – but have a project where I need it – and bought a (used) Festool Domino dowel joining machine. Really awesome, it may be like a 'Thermomix' in the kitchen, but it is so easy to use and the joining is en pointe, no measurements at all I had to make when using it for making the first drawer with it. Plan was to sell it after a while again, but... nope.

As @t.o. mentioned, I made them, I had a look here: it started about 1,5 years ago (but I made a long break because of broken back once): https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/359046/?offset=3350#16544092
@hugo7 thanks! Looking forward when it is finally finished.

I made some progress in the kitchen project, had to look here on my last post to see how many working days it was. When counting correctly since the last update here 5 weekends, excluding one.
The boxes / corpus where all finished but were not easy to install and level to each other, since the floor is so uneven: someone told us before making the wooden floor we should use leveling compound, but we did not too so because ,it was totally flat‘.
Working with the Corian material for the countertop and the sink was so far OK, it smells not good when routing (also it is really a mess) and the glue also (but only like for an hour so). Getting the material for installation, glue and gun, is very hard as it is only sold for ,DuPont certified fabricator‘. A cheap glue gun did not fit, only the ~£70 DuPont version. We should not have bought the countertop plate cut to correct depth, the ,DuPont certified fabricator‘ cut quality is horrible, chipping etc. on each edge. Lengthwise I cut with the router, nice a smooth (on the floor in the living room).
I sanded the countertop yesterday, 150 > 240 > 320 > 500 > 800 (did not work) > 1000 > 2000 > polish. The surface feels good, smooth but also soft / warm in a way, hard to describe.
I had to fix two small holes at the sink glue area: to fix this material is really easy, make a bigger hole, fill with glue and material, and sanding & polishing again, unbelievable how easy this is, easier than wood. To prevent this glue-sink error - even though it was really small holes which couldn’t be seen - I should have put more pressure on the clamp but was feeling not comfortable put more on it.
But mounting the dishwasher and this stupid fucking part in the bottom took 3 days and lots of errors, including that I have now no material left for the waste bin drawer front.
Anyway, here are some pictures.

That makes me smile =) Wonderful weather today. I was with my son on our way or coming to/from a birthday party. Unfortunately I never really have time for some events like the coffee outside morning meeting or I only was once with the Schotteria on a gravel group ride. Funny to talk here now!
Black, 60mm & ahh I have a FW33, this one: https://global.bluelug.com/nitto-fw33-power-stem-bkack.html
I measure about 8 to 10 degrees but a nice long extension possible which compensates the negative angle very well. 30€ if you’re interested? -

Haha yes, actually re-reading what did I write here 5 months ago: "It would maybe look very mysterous and retro when mounted [the dynamo] on the cantilever brake mounts"
Apart from that @JacqueLucque I already made the dynamo position a little bit better and it is much more quiet, still there's potential to make it better. -
@Zebra @EstelleGetty @Ben689908 thanks! It really will be much cooler and more function with flaps, flaps are missing and the flaps have to be 1.5 mm above the floor.

& @Marcootsee as @JonasGeitus mentioned, with these small old rims I measured right now the DTH 2.3" have 55mm. I also have this combination on the cargo bike it is OK and enough for rain, but it is not so wet & rainy in total here in Vienna.
@kvragu sooo many small parts are needed, at least I always need so many different small washers and screws and l-brackets and plastic parts. But then these fenders are so great for mounting, unfortunately they raised the prices (way too much). -

Yes, although a more or less simple method still much work. I made a lot of mistakes but in the end I’m really happy about the progress so far. Basically everything with the table saw and dado blades, and cutouts with the router.
My wife found these with ‘real’ terrazzo tiles, something light colored with small color pieces - not sure yet. Only minimum order quantity we need I guess. But will take some weeks as I see now. Ordering samples, open for input or other vendors!
